| The phrase "politically correct" gives itself away, its not correct, its "politically" correct. I prefer to be correct. | |||

| Really, height is more relative to diet and lifestyle than genetics. | |||

| If you and your friend shared the same diet, than genetics would be the determining factor as to who's taller, however, if your friend had had a significately different diet than you during periods of high growth, than you could have easily turned out taller.
Since you likely had a simular diet to your parents, there's no reason you wouldn't be about the same height. |

| Seems like the point should have been fairly evident.
But if it helps, I will say I buy my pants at Max 10 (not sure if that's a national chain), they're only 10 buck and surprisingly well made, plus they meet all my pants requirements (keeping my legs warm, covering up my underwear). This doesn't change my original point though. (edited by emcee on 12-17-05 06:02 PM) (edited by emcee on 12-17-05 06:02 PM) |

| I guess I'd have site source to get people to believe me on this, but I suppose it doesn't really matter either. Also this isn't supposed to be a debate thread either, so nevermind, carry on. | |||

| I watched two movies last night, first I watch The Island, it was sorta a cross between The Giver, Total Recall and the Matrix. Really, there was nothing original about it, every concept or scene reminded me of another movie or story. There was also no character development at all. There were some decent action scenes though, although a few were a little too silly for me, almost slapstick at times. It wasn't all bad though, it did have some funny parts (most intentional). Also when they showed "The Future", I was rememinded of a line said by Tom Servo during Time Chasers: "So, 50 years from now, it will be three years from now?", really, the only difference was that the L trains were higher. I'd give it 3.5 out of 10 stars.
Next, I watched The Shawshank Redemption, which was about a man keeping hope while serving a life sentence in a rough prison. It was also considerly better than The Island. I'd give it an 8 of 10 stars. Any one else see either of these two movies? What did you think of them? Which did you think was better? (edited by emcee on 12-18-05 07:28 PM) |

| Wow, ban a guy for stating his opinion? That's just ridiculous. Also, what was the non-sentient trees and rocks in reference to? (edited by emcee on 12-18-05 09:43 PM) |

| True, however depending where you put the script you may want access to a higher directory. I was thinking putting something like this before accessing files (after extracting $pass from $ENV{'QUERY_STRING'}, preferably with CGI.pm for better security):
unless(crypt('pass','xx') eq 'encryptedpass') { die('access denied'); } Doesn't matter really though since he hasn't replied he likely doesn't have cgi access and/or doesn't know what I'm talking about. That and you've been banned so you probably won't even read this. |

| People aren't offended by the word "God", they're offended by the phrase "God damn". Bleeping God instead of damn allows the statement to keep its original meaning. | |||

| Are you sure you need a job? If you need the money I could see getting one, but if you're just bored, it seems like there's are alot of other things you could do. Maybe you could take a class or something. Take it from someone who spends over 50 hours a week at one, jobs aren't nearly as great as you'd think. | |||

Originally posted by Ziff So are you saying that something can be non-existance and still be sentient, or that non-existance issimply impossible? I would say that there's an infinite amout of things that don't exist. I don't see why just because something exists at one time it must always exist (atleast from our perspective within time). I think we have different definitions of existance. I would say to exist simply means "to be", or or least posess some state of being. I wouldn't say that everything that exist must be sentient, or have a form, but I would say that for something to have a form, or be sentient, it must first exist. |

| I like it. Both simple and detailed at the same time. I agree that the red text is a bit hard on the eyes though, plus I think a darker red would fit the layout a little better anyway. | |||

| I just read that The Green Mile was written and directed by the same guy that wrote and directed The Shawshank Redemption. That kind of surprised me. I didn't like The Green Mile at all, I actually think The Island was better. Maybe it was the source material, The Green Mile was based on a full novel by Stephen King, while The Shawshank Redemption was just a short story (also by Stephen King), so it was more Darabont's work, and less Stephen King. Don't get me wrong King writes great horror, but his pure drama leaves a little to be desired. (edited by emcee on 12-20-05 11:29 PM) |
