Whether that's true or not doesn't really prove that racial profiling is the reason, I'm sure Israel uses various security measures to prevent terrorist from hijacking or blowing up planes.

5 years from now, I bet that you could do a survey and most people will say Pluto is a planet.

Given that recent surveys have found most people can name more of the Seven Dwarfs then US Supreme Court justices, more of The Three Stooges then branches of government, and can't point out Iraq on a map, I think most people would answer "Mickey Mouse's dog".

Watching his show it always seemed like he was casually moving out of the way of a deadly posionious snake as it lunges at him, on just barely avoiding being hit by the "powerful tail of this huge croc, that could kill a man with a single blow". I remember wondering once if some day I'd turn on the TV and hear he was done in by some wild animal he was messing with. But at the same time I kinda figured he was never in any real danger. The odd thing was that he was appartently just swimming over this sting ray. Not holding it up and saying "Ah, she's a beaut'", like he would do with deadly rattlesnakes.

It is sad though, not just because the public lost an entertaining personality, but more because his wife lost a husband, and his children will grow up with out a dad.

I get that to. It's those linked articles. I'll be reading along, and a word will link to another slightly related article, and I think, "huh, I wonder that's all about". And I just keep doing that until I'm on something completely unrelated. Like I be reading about some 19th century poet, and the next thing I know I reading about the Cassini space probe. Sometimes I'll go to look something up, and I happen to see something under "Did you know...", and it will be another 4 hour before I actually look up what I came there for.

CATEGORY ACRES
FOOD 4.7
MOBILITY 0.2
SHELTER 7.4
GOODS/SERVICES 6.9
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 19

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 4.3 PLANETS.

I say we start with Mars. It's not doing anything over there.

I couldn't see actively searching for the video of his death, but to be honest, if I saw it posted somewhere, I'd probably watch it, even knowing that I'll probably wish I hadn't afterwards. Call it morbid curiousity I guess.

But, like the audio of Timothy Treadwell being killed by a bear, I doubt the footage will ever make it to the general public. Which is probably a good thing. I did read a news article though, that gave a basic description of what happened in the footage. And, no, he didn't die instantly.

Here's what I don't get. Most of my body hair gets to certain length and stops growing, but if I were to shave it, it would grow back. So how does it know that it's been shaved?

Ok, that explains it. I didn't think itactually knew it had been cut (its just hair). I was just wondering why it appeared to stop growing until it was cut.

I was supposed to be at school, but I had too many unexcused absences, and lost credit, so I just stopped going. So I slept through the whole thing. When I woke up my friend was talking on the phone to his mom. I heard him say "The Pentagon?". I was still groggy so I thought maybe I was in some kind of trouble. After that I just watched the news all day. I really didn't know how to feel about it. I was of course upset, because of the large loss of life. When I hear of thousands dying, I can't help but think of tens of thousands who lost loved ones. But there seemed to be some sort of mourning on a national level, and I just didn't feel that. I didn't feel personally effected by it. In the months afterwards there seemed to be this huge surge of patriotism, which I didn't really understand. Everyone had flags on the cars now. But they eventually faded, and they didn't replace them and everyone generally moved on with their lives.

Don't get me wrong, though. I have nothing against patriotism. I complain about the government. I complain about the President. I complain about the way my tax dollars are spent. And not spent. But the fact that I can complain is not something I take for granted. This country was founded on the concept of basic inalienable rights. A concept that we haven't always lived up to. But I see more as what we can be rather than what we always are. Simply working towards that, by actually using my right to protest, to me seems far more patriotic then attaching some piece of polyester to my car mirror until it fades or falls off. No, I'd didn't identify with the nation as a whole by mourning over people I never met and buildings I've only seen in pictures (only to forget about it until two of the numbers in the date happen to be the same). And I never got one of those little metal flag buttons to wear on my shirt. But somehow I feel more American then those who did.

I know, alot of that was kind of off on a tangent, but oh well.

Actually Ramstein's (or Spiderman3) right, calling people dipshits is flaming. The little text below the banner is flaming. Saying "Attention Idiot" to point out someone's bad layout is flaming. It's certianly not constructive criticism.

It's still flaming. Whether you think you have a good reason or not doesn't change anything. You can't honestly think it's going to solve anything.

Well, I think the materialistic part was "Yeah, my grandfather died young--But the real issue is who he gave his stuff to".

Unless you suspect foul play.
