Hello, my name is Josh Wiggins, A.K.A. Trans Arctica. I specialized in Rom Hacking, especially, SMW Hacking. My current "specialty"(I guess you could call it,) would be pixel art. YY-CHR is my favorite among the many programs I own. (THANK YOU YY! (and FuSoYa, of course, what would the world be like w/o Lunar Magic...)) I won't be asking any annoying questions about how to use LM or blktool or any other program similar; I have years of experience with that. I have actually visited this forum for YEARS now, just not created an account until now... I really haven't have the time. You will find I'm a fairly active user, and, don't worry, i don't spam.
I live in Ft. Worth Texas, and my 16th birthday is approaching. ^^ Also: I am currently working on a SMW hack titled- MarioClimatica: Infrared. (21% completion?!) And lastly: I do my own GFX (edited by Trans Arctica on 02-02-07 04:34 PM) (edited by Trans Arctica on 02-02-07 04:35 PM) |

As many people already know, oil production has majorly decreased as of late. We could possibly be out of gasoline forever in the next 100 yrs. :O
So, why don't we use alternate fuels? I just found out that the gasoline/oil companies of the world have billions of dollars, and the reason why (I believe) they are not looking for these alternate fuels is because they are wanting more money, therefore not benefiting anyone other than themselves. What would the world be like if one day the government was owned by these oil-greedy (money-greedy) tyrants? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate these people and what they do, but my primary question is, what will happen with these people when the gasoline vanishes?
It's just a thought... ;p (edited by Trans Arctica on 02-14-07 12:00 PM) |

These screens look amazing. Although, I don't want this one to end up like the others... (horrible NES games with high expectations) I'm sure there is a way to ensure this is no ordinary game... the screens are nice, but do you have a photo that shows individuality/creativity? I'm sure this will be no problem for you...

My friend told me of a website similar to Final Fantasy Roleplaying... I tried it out, and although the concept was good, I didn't like the setup... but I know other people who really enjoy it, so if you enjoy RPG's, I guess you would like this.

I have a block request... I've been thinking of creative ways to use blocks to a player's advantage. Is it possible to create a block that, when hit from a specific side, (say, the top) a different trigger will be activated than if you wanted to hit it on any of the other 3? I guess sort-of like a guessing game or something... I have a level idea that involves these.

That is an amazing title screen! That seems like it took a long while to do...
Also, very creative level design, especially in level 5 for incorporating the bookshelves, etc. |

I found the suit was extremely useful, especially against those darn superkoopas! Also, like the red visor. It adds a nice touch.
Kudos. ^^ |

The title screen is alot better.
Also, I have to say, that one pic looks like mario is running from a moon... (although that would be a nice addition if the hack were YI based!) |

Very little criticism.
The water defect is really annoying. The End. |

Very creative. The rocketship level looks extremely exciting; nice work on the ExGFX and custom blocks. Also, I like your Mario--although those (sunglasses?) look a little strange...
Other than that, it looks promising! ^^ |

Originally posted by KiwisauceOriginally posted by Trans Arctica I like the sunglasses idea in general, the gfx just looks a little sloppy... Also, my #1 favorite feature is the usage of the message boxes. It's creative how each one for each level represents a journal entry. It also provided lots of comical stuff that made me laugh at times. There is one thing I must say though about the levels: I noticed many levels were kind-of similar, as far as the layout. A good example of this is the fact that you used many land platforms that were spaced apart, making me jump a lot. Sometimes its good to run (or walk) for a while, ya know? Overall, as I said before, it is promising. 9.5/10. |
