Kill em' All has, and forever will be my favorite album.

Anyways, I purchased two CD's yesterday, and I was blown away by their chunk factor:

Iced Earth - Dark Saga - I couldn't stand anything about the music. To slow, to weak, whatever. I didn't like them really in the first place, but a year or two ago I hated bands like Dragonforce and Blind Guardian, now I love those bands. So I figured maybe I'd give Iced Earth another chance ... instead I completely wasted my money.

Dream Evil - The Book of Heavy Metal - I won't say I hate this band, because from what I've read they've changed their style with all of their albums they've released so far, but I can't put into words how bad I found this one to be.

Horrible crap. These sit next to ManOWar "Hail to England" in my crappy section of my CD's.

Overall it seems like a great game. Haven't played multiplayer yet, but I'm really enjoying the single player campaign. It feels really basic, and simple compared to other Metroid's however ...

One thing I'm finding a hard time to get used to however, is the controls. I really didn't like Stylus mode, and Dual mode just feels weird at times. Still, it's not impossible to play, just not exactly friendly.

Pound for pound, a game like that could yield a much greater value than any 3D game of the same price.

Finally, someone I can completely agree with. I've always thought it would be amazing to get a gigantic Metroid game, with the power of today's consoles ... with Super Metroid's engine. Who care's if it's 2D, has sprites, whatever, it could be a massive game with a massive amount of enemies, items, whatever.

But in all honesty you can't really compare 2D to 3D. They have different factors, that make them better than the other, and worse.

2D has restriction, but simplicity. 3D is more open, but more complex.

And truthfully I don't think a lot of games can translate well into another dimension. Sonic the Hedgehog, Gradius, etc, they all wouldn't seem right in 3D (face it, the Adventure series is pretty horrible).

Sure, I play a lot more of my old consoles, than new. Just because I loved those simple games on the Genesis, NES, and SNES, they have a nostaglic feel to them, and whatnot. But I don't really think just because I prefer old, 2D games, really means they're necessarily better.

I don't know if any of that made sense, but whatever.

The thing that bothers me, is how the stylus and the D-Pad "feel" so close to eachother. And it just seems hard to grip the DS like that ...

Guess I'll just have to try to and play around with it more often in that mode to get used to it.

Along with the Super Mario Bros Super Show, and Sonic SatAM, the Megaman show back in that age was something I really loved.

Any fans remember this show? Villians from the original game were usually in it, from Bombman, to Iceman, to Cutman. I remember there was some really weird episode, where X came into Megaman's world from the future, because Vile and Spark Mandrill traveled to that time or something. It was pretty cool.

So I have to ask, did this show ever get a DVD release, or anything? I'd love to see it again.

Thanks!

A TOUCH OF EVIL!

Heh.

That or Leather Rebel, if your drummer can perform that kind of drumming.

Open your show up with The Helion! Haha.

Red Faction II.

Biggest disappointment after playing Red Faction, you can't even compare the two.

Same goes to Perfect Dark Zero. Ugh, could a sequel possibly have been even worse ...

This just gets lol points for stupidity.

Well sorry. I don't enjoy FPS's with a broken physics engine. I don't enjoy unloading 3-4 clips unto somebody to finally take them down, when they can kill me in one shot with a Sniper Rifle. I don't enjoy techno music throughout the single player mode that sounds like it was composed by a 3 year old. I don't enjoy horrible storylines.

And it goes on. Perfect Dark Zero was NOT a good game, at all.

So I have to ask, maybe not the best thread too but oh well ...

Was Motorhead the first band to put out a real Speed Metal album? (similar to Judas Priest's Painkiller).

I can't remember where I read that, maybe in some Judas Priest booklet or something, I just remember some source saying Motorhead was the first band who started up Speed Metal.

I still think FFVII is a great game, overall. Maybe because I'm just a fan to most RPG's, but still FFVII has some of the emptiest characters in any game out there (Cloud ... who is he?), a horrible storyline with countless unfixed plotholes (that got even deeper thanks to Advent Children, and man was that movie bad), and other things that weren't too dandy. So, to call it the best RPG, or crazy stuff like that ... wow.

So in short I always thought FFVII was decent, medicore ... nothing more and nothing less.

Vice City was a lot better than SA in my opinion. It just had a much more interesting plot. I've never really had a problem with the GTA series though.

Good to see I'm not alone. GITS was a complete utter mess. I liked Akira a lot, but it still wasn't anything "amazing".

I agree with The Grudge also. That was probably one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. Was it a comedy, or thriller?

Both Kill Bill movies are also INSANELY overated. I have no idea what the big deal is / was about those two movies.

Glad I decided to come back and check this forum today. This hack so far seems incredible, and I've been hyped about it since you first started.

Thank you, all who were a part of this. Super Metroid remains as probably my top favorite game of all time next to Link to the Past, and playing altered / new version of it at this quality is insanely awesome.

If that is the case, then how about saying where that 3rd tank is and the way to go after getting the Varia Suit?

I believe I asked where to go in my original post, so I was expecting an answer (not that you shouldn't be impressed about me getting to Norfair with only two tanks. I *had* used savestates).

Hint: Its in Red Brinstar, in a single room with many spikes and one of those red mouths.

Anyways, I'm stuck here too right now. I'm not sure if I somehow skipped something, or just can't find something. I have 3 energy tanks, beat Kraid, but can't find the Varia Suit if I'm supposed to have that now?

I got the Norfair hint, from this thread and in the readme ... but, I'm really clueless as to what I need to do before I die. I take it the 4th energy tank is to the right of the elevator, where that small bomb puzzle area is?

Hmm, should I have the Dash Boots or something? I get to the third, more mechanical like room and usually die there. And I don't think I've seen any enemies that I could kill.

You are awesome DarkSlaya, because your fun facts are full of fun.

Yeah, me? I don't know what happened. Before the last board wipe I was a Local Mod of Gaming and RPG Gaming, had over 3,000 posts, and was sometimes on the top 10 ACS list. (I don't think anyone remembers me as a Mod, hehe).

I don't know. Nobody from here ever talks to me anymore (AIM), and now whenever I look around (I lurk nowadays, sometimes.) I tend to fall upon stupid threads in general that just make me bored (I don't know, I seem to have bad luck and only see threads with staff calling members retards who take everything seriously or members complaining about lame stuff), then I also remember I need to spend more money at Amazon.com, and the index now looks kind of hideous.

But oh well. I post about once or twice a month now. Trying to make it even longer than that... but I get bored I guess, and have too much free time.
