I don't really see this as a new development, though. The grapics race has been on ever since SNES / Genesis, in my opinion.

I only read the first post, but look ... I'm 18, will be 19 by the end of this year. I have not yet found myself in any kind of relationship with a girl at all.

Yes, I'll admit I've been annoyed by it myself, and sometimes wish things were different. But it doesn't put me in a depressed mood or anything. That and I'm going to College next year, hoping things will be different.

Simply put, you're only 16. I even say to myself, I'm only 18. There's still plenty of time.

I don't know, I may be a selfish bitch, but here goes.

I've always felt somewhat neglecting when I think about my sister. The main reason:
- Basically I was born when my mother was honestly quite young. My birth father, wanted to go off into the Military but my mom didn't. They seperated for a bit, he came back. And from what she tells me he didn't seem like he was ready to be a father or something. So, that didn't work out. My grandparents have a video of my 3rd birthday party, and he was in it. I have not seen that video for maybe over 10 years, but I have extremely faint memories of him in it. I -know- he was there, but I can't make him out anymore. Since then I've never seen or heard from him, and I'm 18 now.

So, when I turned 5-ish my current adopting father and mother had a daughter, my sister.

It might just be me being a little nitpicky, but from the many years I've seen her grow, she's always seemed to be closer to my parents. She has a lot more expensive things than I did at her age. My guess? She loves music, and plays many instruments. My dad has played guitar for almost all his life. So I guess that means she's better? I played videogames, and have been made fun of because of it throughout my family all my life. I got maybe a game or two, for say ... Christmas at a younger age, she got drums, guitars, keyboards (she's on her 3rd?) and just overall a lot more stuff than I would have gotten.

So that's basically it. Since my parents got married and had her, she always seemed [or seems] to be the favorite.

I've always been closer to my mom, easily.

I have nothing against my father, but we've had our days. Somedays where I asked myself "Why?" ... and "How would my real dad act?".

I know its silly really. I didn't even know my real father. But I'm sure we all have those little things in life that make us question things no matter what.

Edit: Adding unto what Danielle brings up. I can easily see that my parents have been far less strict with my sister, letting her see higher rated movies and not really caring. For me, it was like the end of the world if I did.
