A good idea for maps is to have each section sepereate from each other. There were maps in Nintendo Power, and basically what they did was just make it so each section was stand alone rather than a giant map all together.

Blaster Mater: Pimp your Ride is a rom hack of the NES game Blaster Master. It features some major assembly hacks as well as some level alteration in order to show off the new features.

What are the new features? Eight, count them, 8 new upgrades! That's not all. These upgrades are in addition to the seven that already exist! That's 15 upgrades for the tank in all!. Each new upgrade can be found in one of the tank levels, and I will not disclose what their functions do since they should for the most part be self-explanitory.

As for screenshots, forgive me if I must link to them since I don't have upload space:

Please inform me if you find any bugs, or if you have some suggestions for a possible further release.

I seem stuck as to what to do next. I found some weird arrows on the floor near a heart piece on the way to the docks. Speaking of docks, I can't seem to get there since I need the flippers to reach it.

I admit that trying to play though this game is a lot like trying to read the mind of an Omnipotent God, but it's still fun to see things the way they are.

Elcuid, do you know how to create a dark cave room, or is the pallete bug there as a result of somthing else?

Okay, I am still lost. I assume the arrows I saw earlier are the Lost Woods solution, except you can't go left or it takes you out of the area. As for the Merchent's Way, I don't know where that is.

I need a clue.

So where do I go? I have been everywhere I can and still can't find the flippers.

Hehe, I bet you didn't find the entrance to level 2 before beating level 1's boss. If you did I had a surprise to make sure you can't go far.

Anyway, for those who are not familar to the game, there are few things that need explaining: First of all, in tank mode you can shoot up, left, and right. You can press down and B to use a special weapon, but in this game that ability needs to be unlocked one weapon at a time. Also, to exit the tank, press Select. This lets you climb ladders and enter small passageways. At least one person tried to play the game not knowing the controls, and found that tanks don't go up ladders.

Don't forget that after level 2 the levels are more or less the same as the original, with a few areas a bit different.

I used BCK, or Blaster Construction Kit, which was coded by UraniumAnchor.

As for rapid fire, that is actually quite doable, but would make it kind of broken. Of course space constraints are also a factor.

Now just imagine rapid fire tank gun, or rapid fire special weapons. That would be so cool!

Okay, so I am in the second world. I can't get into the first dungeons since I need the Cane of Someria. What should I do now?

Oh yeah, I found a fatal bug near the Church. You can walk to the left and enter the graveyard, and you will be at a spot you should not be able to walk on. If you go back you can get yourself stuck in an endless loop or be trapped in the water.

Thank's guys for the imput. As for the keyhole problem, I've fixed that. Not sure about the other bugs though. As for the gun powerup, each one gives 1 and 3 units of gun power respectivly. It takes 32 units to make the gauge go higher, and one more upgrades the gun. You have to find all of them and maybe power level to get it up to maximum. One thing that bugged me about the original is that there were so many powerups, and most of them were pointless.

And I have to agree, the final area with all new upgrades is way too easy. First off, you can walk on walls and celings. Second, you have super speed and invincibility. Third, rapid fire, then infinite hover. Like the title suggests, you are truely pimped out when you finish the game.

What does everybody say that you can't miss the cape when it was far easier for me to find the Red Mail in the you know what level?

Edit: Hold a sec, why does the post above me show a normal dark room? All my dark rooms are red with a weird light.

I finally found the cape. Apparently there was a secret passage I didn't enter and I only found it after beating the eyeball boss after the chest key.

Did you check to see if maybe there is a special modifier code for the fifth boss? What I mean is that perhaps what the game does is load up the boss(I think Helmet Head), then perform a check to see what palace number you are in, then if it's the 5th one, replaces said boss with that boss.

Or, it checks to see if the "hard" enemies are checked, and makes the adjustments.

Expand the Rom of you hadn't allready. What I did as a small example of a level specific hazard, was make level 2 act like water untill you got the Hyper upgrade. It was cheap, but it did prevent the player from going forward even though they could go to the next level before finding the boss.

For me I like the kind of game where you see places you can't go that require powerups, then you go back and get them. In my game after you beat level 7, you have to do a horrendous amount of backtracking to find every last item to proceed.
