you have the intelligence to make a map like this, much less an ENTIRE HACK, yet you spell missile wrong?

good job. if this game is tweaked to be less of a time sinkhole and source of frustration i'll be sure to finish the second quest, and i'm sure many other people will play it from start to finish since the guardhouse wouldn't be the hardest dungeon. sometimes its a good idea to have a short wave of hard obstacles at the beginning to show the player what they will be up against in the future, but the guardhouse was just too much IMO. same with the armos knights.

Really? i prefer to levetate over that whole part (the thin path with the enemies) they are the most annoying creatures of any video game, expecially the red ones.

I may go further with this depending on whether or not people like the suits. By that, I mean full blown level editing). I am just learning how to use smile, so i fooled around for a couple hours and I think they look pretty good. Here:

Power Suit:

Varia Suit:

Gravity Suit (My favorite):

Let me know what you think.

All the suits work perfectly in any situation include shinespark, heated rooms etc. (It has been an issue in previous hacks where suits will change back to the default during charges or heated rooms)

well, to be honest, gravity is the only one i spent much time on matching the colors more wisely. yes they look bland, but like i said this is the first time i have used smile. i was messing around trying to get the right heat affects, screw attack effects etc. rather than matching the colors. the colors are definitely not mono- - i've made sure of this. They probably seem more saturated because of the small screenshots.

and how is this in the wrong forum?

i've seen plenty of threads like this on here. but sure.

can someone move this?

the fact is, when challenge is based on luck its not a challenge at all.

which is exactly what the guardhouse is.

running through a room hoping a soldier won't notice you. there's no way to tell when he will.

Thanks. Yeah, like i said, the gravity is the one I put the most thought into for the color scheme. although i might change the gun and the other stuff to something different than orange. The phazon suit is a good idea. I just personally got sick of purple for the gravity suit, and yellow for the power suit.

For some odd reason, I really like the varia suit. The green and blue you used make it look really cool.

The gravity could be a bit smoother, and shinier. It is metal, after all.

The Power's colors are *pretty* damn random, and bland as well.

I like the varia as well...from Legato's opinion, it should be more turqoise to fit the blue center. This is what it looks like:

these are in no way permanent. i make backups of the original. i just want to get input from as many people as possible, and gradually improve upon each suit.

I agree with Link's posts, although none of these things stop this from being a good, maybe great hack. the completely redone overworld was pretty capturing, especially with the snow effect, but maybe thats because i love snow. the dungeons would have been much better, i agree, with a map, i personally could do without the compass.

For example, Durunia's dungeon was just plain hell without a map, i actually drew one on paper...EVEN THEN i could not find the small key despite having been to the rooms over and over again.

I have one major suggestion: Program the game to play a tune when there's a key in the room, (WHEN YOU HAVE THE COMPASS) like in Link's Awakening. This is by far a better feature than showing the boss room, because once you walk past a boss-key-door you think "okay now i just remember where that door is and i'll find the boss easily"

And i don't even want to think about nabooru's hole again *shudders* lets just say there should be more light, and less zappers.

Spelling is learned just like Rom-Hacking is learned.

I doubt he hacked the entire ROM of metroid without seeing the word "missile" spelled correctly once, much less read about it while asking for help. And then spelling it wrong 52 times on a map.

If your talking about the ones on the other side of the cliff, bomb jump to the northwestern/northeastern part of the platforms. What i did was put the dash button on turbo and floated over the entire thing.

i've never made a map like this before. yes, i admit it. but i have edited graphics a LOT. i have three rpg's floating around the net, each with their own custom battle system, which requires a different sprite for each frame of animation. which is a HELL of a lot of graphic editing.

and obviously graphic editing software wouldn't have a spell checker, because it would be extremely hard to program something like that.

yeah, he probably did copy and paste it, but missile is such an easy word to spell, it bothers me how he didn't notice on the 52nd paste that it was spelled wrong.

:EDIT: i am not bashing this hack in any way, since i havent played it, but it would somewhat ruin the feel of the game if i pick up the ice beam and it says "watter shoothurr" or something like that.

yeah im a dude posting in the femine's corner, so slap me if you wish...but i have the same problem, and have looked into it. it's probably bad circulation.

many people get red in the ears when flustered or nervous. this is caused by a condition called cradle cap (dandruff, basically) which will make your ears feel as though they are burning when in a nerve racking situation.

but i tend to just stick with the explanation that it's bad circulation. i also get it in my fingers and toes, because i smoke and am a caffeine whore. if you dont do either of these things, go see a doctor or a dermatologist because it CAN get serious if you have some kind of condition.

no. that doesn't count. and if anyone does hold that against you and call you a smoker, they are an up-tight ass, probably more straight edge than your grandmother as well. some people smoke a cigarette very rarely during high points of stress.

i'm sure all of you have stood by a campfire once or twice. (at least i hope so, not sure about some of you), WELL, guess what, if you have, YOUR A DAMN SMOKER.

smoking is not easy to quit and people who haven't done it can't understand the difficulties, which is why they have no room, nor right to speak against people who do smoke.
