Spoiler:

it IS hard to miss. if you would have killed the eye boss, you would have realised the cape is in the room right after him.

Thanks for that. One more for you!

How/when can I go back to the original Hyrule? I've heard talk about the Mirror... Is that how you do it? And when/where do you get it?

Spoiler:
you get the mirror at the very end of the parallel tower. be aware that you can only use the mirror at the triforce shrine, and in the parallel tower to warp back to the beginning

Can someone please tell me how to get the last key in the parallel tower?

I'm almost positive I have all 6 keys outside of it, I only need one more key.
On floor 5 or 6 (I don't remember), there is a chest up a ledge surrounded by blue switch things that are down ad there is a warp point there, but I am lower down and don't know where the warp point is and so I can't get to it. If this is the last key, how do i get it? If not, then where is that last key?

In the parallel tower, I have the key from falling down 2 stories and the key after beating the armos knights.

Spoiler:
on the sixth floor, the one where you have to find the "secret forest meadow" check under a pot in the room with the spinning fire blade and ice. there is a chest in the room as well, but the key is under a pot.

become a ninja! then at least you will be able to throw a shuriken and ride it to school, rather than walking/taking the bus, and it will earn you extra coolness points.

no, but seriously. like the other guy said, find something you enjoy and hold on to it, if anyone tries to take it from you cut their throat. (not literally, well, maybe.)

As it turns out, I did get all three parallel tower keys, and backtacked just to make sure. I also went back to all 6 areas in both worlds with keys and I have opened all of the chests already.
Were there any besides the lake ruins one that aren't in chests (so maybe I thought i got it but I have to do something else)?
There is still a key door in parallel tower that I can't get past, even though I have checked and doublechecked all the key locations. What is going on?

haha. your going through the same nightmare i went through last night, i see.

anyway, first check if its a problem with your savestates (which it was, in my case)

secondly, check the easiest key to miss, which is
Spoiler:
the dark world church, secret passage in the right wall

if you still cant find it, then i suggest going through and checking all of the key locations again. i can hear you groaning already, but hey, same thing happened to me.

you might want to mark that with a spoiler dude.

anyway: to get to the boss of shiek's hideout...

Spoiler:
go in the first door on the right when you enter the dungeon. warp. go up. in the next room, go left, and follow the path until you get to the orb/crystal. slash it. now the blue pegs should be down, and the brown pegs should be up. go all the way back to the room just above the warping room near the beginning. go up this time. keep going up and you should see a hole (if you dont, go to the room to the left and hit a switch) jump down the hole. follow the path down and around and go in the boss key door. there should be brown pegs sticking up with a portal inside, and falling blocks. grapple to the portal once you get the chance. go past a bunch of flying tile rooms and you will be at the boss.

quite the long read. oh well, you asked for it. let me know if your stuck.

Im new as well. I cheat at golf. i skate. and most of all i enjoy classic games like the rest of ya. well thats it i guess i could definitely be an avid rom-hacker if the programs were simple enough to use, but since it requires a somewhat deep knowledge of programming i dont know as if i would have the time.

and one more thing, in the light world if you swim past the pyramid, you can go into a cave that has 3 pullable levers, apparently to release some water. each time i pull one I get a "wrong" sound, and I have tried all 6 permutations. I am completely baffled by this. maybe I already got a key from this room before, but I forgot. I do know that I never did anything correct with the levers

another thing, I can't figure out the trick with the R button. I know the one with the L button, but I can't get anything to work with R

the secret of the quake medallion is
Spoiler:
faster magic regeneration

the levers in the waterfall cave do nothing.

and if the chest is empty, you already have the key.

the trick with the R button is that it shows hidden passage ways.

OK, you guys are way ahead of me, but help a newbie out here, if you could be so kind...

This is all covered in the readme so I won't bother with spoiler tags.

I've rescued Zelda, found the path in the wine cellar, and reached a room full of puddles and spike traps. Maneuvered around the traps and reached a pair of dark rooms ("Guardhouse Sewers") with a few rats. How do I get that door open in the first room? The second one, east of it, has a giant hole in the middle with one island of safe ground in the very center; is the switch tile on that island? There's another closed door leading north from that room, but there don't seem to be any tiles in either room that will open those doors.

Am I even in the right place? Initially I escaped the guardhouse with the wrong route and found myself pointlessly navigating a room full of holes and fireball-shooting statues only to reach a dead end.

How does one get past this?

there IS a tile that will open the door in the first room. but you may want to go back and get this first:

Spoiler:
the sword
if you haven't already. also don't forget to grab the boomerang, unless you want the red one later, then skip it.

zero: to take the blue path you have to revisit the parallel tower in the light world, either that or use the pegasus glitch to float across the hole.

there is a very simple way to trigger the second quest. unfortunately you have to kill ganon to find out

adezero:
Spoiler:
there is an extra "question mark spot" in the light world on that hole. which means you can stop at the top of the hole and get off your somaria platform. this "question mark" spot doesnt exist in the dark world parallel tower, only the light world one. or, like i said before you can just use the pegasus boots glitch to float straight over it. (activate turbo A button and hold it down, makes link levitate)

i have a clock i would like to suggest. its a ceiling projector alarm clock. this can be a good or a bad thing. here are the reasons this clock will wake you up for sure:

-its extremely loud
-it projects the time on the ceiling, making you feel guilty if you hit the snooze button
-the clock must be turned away from your bed, if it is at the foot of your bed, to project the time on the ceiling. this is preferred so you have to actually move to shut it off/hit snooze
-because the clock is facing backwards (but the time is still projected correctly on the ceiling) it will take you longer to shut the damned thing off. but this is good, since there is a Lock mode like on iPod that stops you from accidentally changing the time settings. made specifically for people that are hard to wake.

nope. im guessing they are only in the second quest. also, there are no tablets in these areas that you mentioned. only the 7 dark world dungeons.

No, definitely not, if you're referring to the "very hard optional puzzle." It's actually pretty easy compared to a lot of the other puzzles in the game. All you have to do is
Spoiler:
hit a certain spot in the wall with the hammer (the part that you can hookshot to) and go through to the next room. The puzzle in that room can be beaten with the hammer, hookshot, and boots. All you get for it is a full heart container, though.
The only hard part about it is that the floor disappears, so you kind of have to restart the tower once you solve it

Icheatatgolf: How do you know there aren't tablets in all the places it mentions on the end screen?
Also when I said I looked really hard in he guardhouse sewers I meant in the second quest. I still didn't find anything. i would still prefer some official confirmation from Euclid or something before I continue the second quest, since I can't get back into the sewers later.

if you go to Euclid's faq page (found in the readme) he tells you there are only 7 tablets. trust me. the dark world dungeons are the only dungeons that have them.
