I saw it before in SMU...

If you have the 'auot' text box enabled (appers on cirtain screen), Then the screen will turn white and a few other colors, and mario will fall to death.

the glitch seems to be activated on a level with an exit over screen 0, and a few others...

I think he ment continue from his 10 as well... oh well.

s.w.r.'s tips are kind of hasty and his 'tips' are just a bunch of catagorys

...oh well...

6) When 1st making your Over-world (OW), start off using only the water and the grass. after you make your basic map like so, try to get the edges of the grass you made into the 'cliff edge' ones. at the bottem of the grass, make a ledge (beigy-brown) go down 2 or 3 tiles. Then set up your base paths using the darker green 'half and half' tiles.

7) Set up your level tiles nd paths on the OW BEFORE editing the levels themselves. Doing so will alow you to look up the level on the OW and then editing it in that way.

8) Try to keep your 'basic' grass a plain green color. It will look kind of crappy... After it is all set to the green, place randome things here and there out of the way of paths. (random stuff: 1x1 hills, the little darg green / shapes, small rock chunks, 2x2 hills, trees, ect.)

9) Never give up on your hack. If a few levels get screwy, dont delete them, just edit them until they work. If part of your OW gets to crammed, place a pipe in it and set up the rest of the levels elsewhere.

10) Before making your OW, get out a sheet of graph paper. measure out 21x21 squares and border it. That will serve as your basic OW map. each 1 square is a grass/water tile, every 2x2 tiles are levels and paths.

11) For your first few, if not ALL your hacks, do NOT try to do what the original SMW does with it's star world. Make sure ALL your paths line up proporly.

18 counters my 7 >.< !! do the ow FIRST if anything

19) Use custom block for the 1st 'blank' gfx page you find (all little squares). Use the next page for block tool stuff aswell. the page after and on you might want to have non-blktool custom blocks. (Old smw effects from different shapes)

NOW i remember a quick and simple way to do it!

1) Keep the star warp thing the way it is.

2) Set up the event that would trigger the star to appear.

3) on the same event, set up the red stars (ALL of them in the same event) to appear in star world.

4) reapeat 2 and 3 for ALL stars that go to star world. You never know wich one the player will find 1st.

5) Make sure the revieal star spot in star world and the appearing red event star line up exactly. after you beat the red star level, it should turn into a gold star (determined by the event)

another way is to edit exgfx animations to a 'falling rain' and put it on layer 1 acting like tile 25. _¬

Yes, it will be a hell of a puzzle if you cant see mario, the enemies or the platfoms

Also, KEEP THEM NUMBERED

...so, how many exits are there?

Undecided. I'm currently working on World 1(?), so all I know is that World 1 will have a large Koopa Factory in the middle of it. You may as well make sketches of it for now, as I have to make sure the levels get done first.
Otherwise, you're in![/url]

yay! (sorry i havnt been on alot)

hrm... is w1 a sub map? if so, how does mario exit the submap? (n/e/w/s bridge or pipe?

or maybe... you could tell me how many levels r in ur world 1 and I'll revamp the OW into a big mondo cool ... thing...

Also i remembered how exactly to gaph paper the OW's (32x32 on graph paper, each box is a level/path tile, a quarter of the box is a land/water tile ) so I'm ready for anything u throw at me!

hmm... let me guess... Cackeletta, the shadow queen, Doopliss or you are the final boss (ooh ooh let it be doopliss, hes smart, just... slow in the head a lil) or maybe its O.O the shadow sisters AND doopliss!

hrm... I'm not much of gfx editor... and if you want w1 to look like w1 from smb3... it wont really well... work

I'll do what i can, but I'm not promacing anything except a kick-@$$ OW... maybe not 100% the way you'd like... but I'm posably the best OW maker around... w/out using too many gfx changes that is...

or do you mean GFX like smb3? hmm... I could replace the parhana gfx with the wiggling hill...

BTW, my email is in my profile now.

Yes, Its kind of IMPOSABLE to create an original story unless you revamp all the boss and enemy gfx >.>
