On linking to FF.net, that's perfectly fine as long as you actually link. I think there was one thread so far that didn't even have the courtesy to do that.

On the displaying, I think that something like "[name of genre]" works but something like "[name of genre/(on-going, finished)]" also helps out a few people in terms of longer fics.

Well, I got the cab updated to R21, fixing half the issues with the cab I have locally.

Unfortunately, I could not get 'custom songs' approved. Here's why: Apparently, Namco has been receiving some 'complaints':

There's been a patchover for OGGs existing for months. I posted about it earlier in this thread. It just edits the header info to say that the OGG is 1:45 in length.

[shrugs] It just kinda honks me off a bit is all. It doesn't surprise me that something like this would happen because there's really no control factor in it than for owners to tell someone to go fsck themselves when that's the language they're not trying to convey to begin with.
