From what I know, SNESTool has some strange errors. I think I've heard the patching errors before.

But, looking at FuSoYa's page, Lunar IPS supports IPS patches up to 16mb (The limit of the format), and is virtually bugfree, so honestly, there's no reason to keep using SNESTool (Heck, LIPS was designed as a replacement to overcome it's shortcomings)

If it's something I find interesting, I have a ridiculously good attention span. I often find it quite easy to keep my attention on something interesting for over four hours, without noticing anything happening in the background.

Even if something's not that interesting, I'm usually able to hold my attention for at least a half hour.

Maybe it was all those hours playing Sim City and Word Rescue as a 3 year old child....

However, it allows you to find information about programming languages and the tools you'll need to construct your own.

If you're not capable of doing some independent learning and research then why would you be aiming to make an editor in the first place?

Basically, what you'd need to know to make an editor:

-A programming language of some description
-A thorough understanding of your target game
-Patience
-A lot of effort, research and learning
-Patience
-Plenty of time dedicated to the task
-Did I mention patience?

That should be what you need. Google is the way you can find most of those, so don't complain when the answers don't fall into your lap.

Hmm. My default monitor's desktop is Digital Blasphemy that cycles around every 15 minutes or so. My secondary monitor's desktop (When I plug in a monitor to my lappy for an extended desktop), the other desktop is just some cute girl pics.
