this is the same way like i did. it's much better than a custom block.

Actually, in this case you're limited by the amount of VRAM the SNES has. There are some things even ASM can't solve...


really? and what is with games like DKC? the gfx seems to use a lot of more space than SMW. everytime i look into a DKC-savestate with bgmapper, i'm wondering how they managed to put these huge graphics in the game

I'm glad to see that you will make the sml2 remake!
link2006's remake wasn't really good .
If you want, you can have my colorized sml2 gfx that i used in Pitmk1 (i know the
?-Block looks bad, but i think the rest is alright )
