Hey all. What's up? I'm formerly known as Big Al 214. Anyway, to the point, I was wondering if anyone knew how I can change which graphic tiles that the enemies use and the palette row used? Do I do it through the hex editor or is there another way? Thanks!

Hey, I don't know if anyone's having a similar problem I'm having but for some reason my throw blocks are messed up. I can pick it up but now it can be killed?? In other words if I try to pick it up as Fire Mario he kills it instantly and when I put it down I can't pick it up again or kill it. Does anyone know which offsets I need to change to fix this? Here's what I mean below:

First it was showing the Chuck piece, then I fixed that but now I can't interact with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated here!! Thanks a lot!

P.S. I know the status bar is messed up and all weird. I'm planning to fix it around once I figure out everything else.

Oh and I forgot to mention this. When I kill it, it disappears in a puff of smoke rather than shattering. It only shatters when I throw it into a wall but not if I run into an enemy with it. I found a sprite table that someone posted a while ago and played around with that but I was only successful in changing the throw block back into it's original sprite rather than the glitch. I had a custom sprite in that slot. Do you know if anything uses sprite 69? Because it came up null. Maybe I can move sprite 53 to that location?

This is for those who wish to disable the koopa troopas from popping out of the shell. I've found this in the old thread and saw that when you hit a koopa troopa with a cape or a block from underneath, you can still see the shell shake as if the koopa troopa was coming out.

0x00AC15 [02] - 00-01 Shelless Koopas aren't spawned
0x00AC15 [02] - 03-FF Stun timer for Koopas (Shelless hide in shells rather than sliding out)

However there is a way to prevent that. I know the above info was posted in the archives so I'm sorry to be repeating info. But I don't know if this info below was posted already because I didn't find it anywhere here or in the archives. But if you change x11644 from FF to 00 then you won't see the eyes blinking or the shell shake. However, do keep in mind that it will affect the Bob-ombs too. If you hit them with a cape or a block from underneath it won't explode. Hope this helps.

As far as Bosses HP offsets, I'm only familiar with those HPs mentioned in the archives. Sorry that I'm not much help there... But I would love to change those HPs as well.

Hey guys sorry to bother again. I just have a quick simple question this time. I have the smashable brick ExGFX under the Extend Animated Tile GFX spot and got it to work perfectly with BlockTool and all. However, I have one minor problem. I set it to behave as block 132 so it would change to a coin when a POW is hit. It changes to a coin but still looks like a brick. How can I change it to look like a coin? Will replacing the question blocks that are in the 40-4B range on the 8x8 tile editor do the trick? If so, how can I do that? Thanks and sorry if this question has been asked already.

Thanks very much! That's what I tried doing but it kept flickering from a brick/coin to a question block. I guess you can't use the animation ranges LOL...

I have a few but they're only test levels. I just made like small rooms using different ExGFX while others are just rooms to test out how Layer 2 moves. I use them to duplicate into a new spot. That way I don't have to keep setting up the GFX Bypass and importing the palettes. (I'm too lazy, lol)

Sweet levels!! (Literally) Hope to see a demo soon. Very unique I have to say! Yeah I love that pipe maze in SMB3 World 7 so that new one definitely looks exciting. I think it's level 8 or 9... Anyway, keep up the great work!!

Hey what's up everyone? I just have a few questions and I'm sure some of this has been posted already but I couldn't find the answers after trying to look through the archives.

1. How do you disable the fade-out effect when you trigger the exit in a horizontal level? I've seen it done in PITMK and SMBDXTLL and wanted to know how to do that?

2. Speaking of exits, how do you change which palettes are used for the font used in COURSE CLEAR and the score that adds up below with the timer?

3. I've also seen in some hacks that people show the squashed goomba graphics when you step on the classic goomba. I've tried putting in the code for a classic goomba under sprite 12, which shows the goomba fine but disappears completely when you step on it. How can I repoint the graphics to show to an unused graphic such as the 5UP Tile?

4. Last but not least, is there a patch to get the poison mushroom into the hack? I have tried messing around with the sprite offsets and only got the behavior of the mushroom under sprite 36 but a very ugly glitch.

Please PM me, or post any links where I may find the answer. Thanks very much!

Posted on 01-13-06 03:25 PM, in Damn Computer!! Link
Hey, I'm really stuck now! My friend gave me her old computer and I reinstalled the CD of Windows XP that it came with. It's a 256 RAM 1.6Ghz processor 40GB Drive with XP, which beats my 128 RAM 400Mhz 10GB Windows 98 computer. So everything worked fine until it failed to start up sometimes. It would freeze up on the Dell logo for like a minute and then prompt for the system password. So I got a new hard drive for it changing the capacity from 40GB to 80GB which made it stop freezing up at startup. I formatted it to NTFS format and put in the XP cd the computer came with. The instructions said to format the drive to NTFS and put in the OS cd in which I did, but now when I start it up. It says that Windows cannot read the registry and it reboots in about half a second. I couldn't read everything the evil blue screen says cuz it just flickered and rebooted. Any suggestions? Thanks for your concern!!

I don't know if anyone found this one, but does anyone know where I can find the palette that the text in message boxes use? I want to change it to use another palette. Thanks!

Does anyone know how I can change which palette the font in the Info Box Messages use? I have some custom palettes that I downloaded that interfere with the messages making it look ugly! Please help me! Thanks for your concern.

Yeah, I look forward to it. But damn it's too far from now... I guess they had to make a movie out of it eventually after so many years on the air... I so can't wait for it!
