RPG Maker XP isn't anything near related to roms; in actuality, related to creativity. I know. I didn't mean to offend you, it just made me feel like you both thought I was stupid or something. I'm just saying that we're at a board where we're downloading illegal programs (ROMs) and hacking them, which infringes quite a few laws. I know what you're saying though. Sorry if I put you on the wrong track. Although this thread is starting to get a little off-topic so let's bring back some more questions, please. |

I fixed my overworld, Super Mario Bros. 3 is FINALLY IN! However, I still have a couple more tiny problems.
1) Paradise Land is based over Bowser's Valley. So it's all nice and fun there... problem is... there's thunder FX in the background with flashes. How do I stop that? 2) On the main overworld section I deleted all of the layer 1 and 2 tiles and the sprites... but there's still like 6 or 7 sprites there such as fish and some koopa-like thing as well as smoke from Yoshi's house. Why? 3) I'm having a huge pallette problem and I think it's my own fault, not sure though. My loading screen (where it says Super Mario World and Mario runs around) is retarded... it's all off-colour and the ground flashes. Also, if I use the same ground in other levels it flashes as well... and the bush graphics are really messed up. If you want me to take a screenshot I will but it's tedious for me to do so so unless you want me to do it I'm not going to right yet. As for the pallettes: Go to File -> Pallettes -> Extract pallettes from ROM... go to your ROM File -> Pallettes -> Insert Pallettes from file or something like that. Pretty easy if you're ripping pallettes from another ROM. |

You're going to have to witness this problem first hand. Anyone who thinks they can help, tell me, and I'll e-mail/PM/message the ROM to you. I'm not going to post it as that will break the rules. The pallette is very screwed up in some places.

I dunno what I did but you could say I greatly screwed something up.
Screenshot in LM Title Demo A default problem The default problem was a pallette problem that was already in there from peter_ac's SMB3 GFX hack. The other two just recently appeared when I imported SMB3 GFX into the overworld. Also, I'm still having a problem with Bowser's thunder FX in my overworld (the first area, Paradise Land, is based on the Bowser's Valley map). How do I remove those? ALSO, when I beat Paradise Land 2 (an overwrite of Yoshi's Island 2) there's a big event error on the top left of the overworld, as if those mountains are trying to spring up like on Yoshi's Island. How do I remove that? I know all of these questions must be annoying but I'm just trying to learn... |

TTYP actually sounded pretty interesting even though all I found out about it was a comment in your screen name. Oh well, good luck on the next one. Those screenshots look pretty decent.

Originally posted by Kailieann 1) I think I went to the very top of the events and deleted them all. Also, I don't even HAVE any saved games... they're all empty slots in a ROM that doesn't have any saved states. 2) I remember what you said about checking ROM addresses and I did so but I don't recall seeing anything about Bowser's submap. That link you gave me doesn't even have any posts specifically describing Bowser's submap, so I decided to do what you did and typed "bowser submap thunder acmlm" in google. What comes up? The exact description I needed. Problem: The description is cut off on the hex code... so I decided to go in and check out the post like a smart person would. What comes up? A million errors on the page and no post at all since the thread has an error. (edited by Blue Falkon on 11-28-05 09:01 AM) |

If so, go to database -> tilesets and edit the tile to a star. That is, if you're using 2000 and 2003. I haven't done any work on that with XP but it's probably the same (other than the fact that there's a bunch of numbers on the stars and I haven't used the tileset thing in RPG Maker XP for that long to know what they mean yet). |

Quite a few business places there but the game industry is mostly situated in British Columbia, where Nintendo of Canada is located. I live next to a game design business called HB Studios (they make sports games for Playstation and stuff), but nothing too major. (edited by Blue Falkon on 11-28-05 11:03 AM) |

... But how do you get those RPG stat things in your profile/sig? You know, with the coins and attributes... etc.
Edit: I just realized I put this in the WRONG FORUM. I thought I was in help/suggestions. Argh. (edited by Blue Falkon on 11-28-05 11:11 AM) |

I love old games... I believe that that's one benefit of ROM hacking. I've been thinking about that too... about children growing up with these newer-generation consoles and games. They won't be able to experience the fun of the old games unless we get them too, and if we do, they probably won't care because they love this more flashy stuff. ROM hacking kind of brings the fun back.

The new Nintendo DS 2! Featuring two more added screens to make a total of four! This includes an inventory screen and a security monitor to scan the surrounding environment for teachers/your boss. An added bonus with purchasing this new DS is a FREE TICKET FOR A COFFEE.
... They need to make something new and innovative like the Revolution for handheld. |

Don't even get me started. Most games I play I excel at... but not all of them. I'll list a couple of the ones I'm known to be a master at...
Goldeneye 64 I'm the unofficial Ontario grand champion. About 7 years ago I played two of the other champions 2v1 on License to Kill mode (what I always play). They cheated by pulling my controller out of the socket every now and then, planting stink bombs under my chair to startle me, and putting a rat on my shoulder to freak me out. I still won, so I consider myself the actual champion, even though I have not participated in the actual tournament. This was a long time ago though. F-Zero Series Some of these games I'm really good at, especially the SNES game and the GBA game GP Legend. Super Smash Bros. Melee Not VERY awesome, but one of the best players for where I live. |

For those of you who play Super Smash Bros. Melee, what character do you play with against others? Some of you may play with multiple characters but there are some who master a certain character and use a certain suit color.
I use Marth with a white suit. I like Marth (even though I've never played Fire Emblem before) and I really like the design of his character. His attacks are pretty good too. |

The overall design of the game. A good game is created by having a good design... how good the world is in it or how it's set up. The plot, the music, the graphics (not how cool-looking the graphics are, but how they fit the style of the game).
These are all very important when it comes to making a good game, and game designers should always consider it. |

I like subtitles more than dubs. I prefer the actual, original anime. Dubs usually censor a lot of stuff and change a lot of things in the anime, plus the voices usually suck.
What do you prefer? Edit: By neither, I mean watching original anime from Japan without any subtitles. (edited by Blue Falkon on 11-28-05 01:38 PM) |
