Hey, that's a pretty cool challenge. I still don't like the non-smoothness of the environment (which I still cannot explain clearly) but I still like that challenge none-the-less.
Here's a challenge I made in one of my games, I'm not sure if you've done it or not: invisible bullet bill shooters. You'll be walking and suddenly bullet bills will shoot out of nowhere. It's a very cunning trap. This was probably overdone already, however. |

Originally posted by Andrew I'm probably not the only one who has thought of that. Go ahead, try it. It's pretty cool. You see, my first Mario hack that I did involved very challenging levels, much like yours. Later I felt that it turned out to be very boring because the only thing about it was difficulty... it wasn't very fun, and there's too many challenge remakes. So, I decided for my second hack that I would make a challenging game with less filled levels that would be similar to the ones that Nintendo made. By that, I mean it would be "smooth". I can't really explain it very well... I don't mean that they'd be just like what Nintendo made, I mean they'll actually be professional levels that people would have fun playing, and everything looked in place. There weren't random blocks that you jump on and a million things that look the same and whoa watch out a lot of enemies and obstacles, it was all set out to look like a very good level. I went from making like 7 levels a day in my first hack to about 2 or 3 levels a day in my second hack and now 1 level every couple of days in my hack I'm doing now, which I'm trying to make pretty professional and very fun to play. Do you understand what I mean? |

Wanna ask a question: How much custom and NEW stuff do you actually have? I'm sick and tired of these constant copies of RO private servers that have nothing new on them. Sorry if I sound rude but making NPCs that say new stuff and making quests is not enough. I don't know much yet about this one but what kinda new stuff do you have?
Let me make an example: a group made a Ragnarok Online server that was a copystyle of Final Fantasy VII. Characters were FFVII, you could find random materia on the ground, etc. A lot of custom stuff. You see, since this is a hack board, I expect a lot from these GMs for a private server. I'm sure you can make a great private server for Ragnarok, so I'll try it sometime. What kind of new stuff does this server have? My last server had random chests that would appear in dungeons that people could find. (edited by Blue Falkon on 11-25-05 01:04 PM) |

I'd go "aw, shit". Then I'd get on with my life.
Of course, making hacks would have almost no fun anymore plus I wouldn't get any help with anything. But still, nothing I could do about it. |

You will all have pedophiles and stalkers come to your doors and send you heartfelt love notes.
Well, maybe not. Cool thing, sending each other Christmas cards. I'd be a little more cautious, however. |

I could probably find this out myself but while I'm in school I might as well ask here:
How do you set up Twilight RO? Where are the files? |

I still haven't solved this problem and I don't think any FAQs answered it (I just skimmed through them).
Here we go... you know that door in Zelda's room that you unlock with a master key? Well, wait, first off, I did what I was not supposed to and I totally revamped Zelda's room, but apart from this everything's okay... THE DAMN THING WON'T WORK. When I go up to the door, no matter what kind of key I have, it won't open. It won't even make a message telling me "hey guess what you can't open this damn thing without a key"... well, you know what I mean. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? |

Cool, another Canadian. So, where are you from?
Manga's always cool. I have a brother who lives in Japan so he sends me manga every now and then. ^^ It's great. Welcome to Acmlm's Board, enjoy your stay! |

I might've done something to the pallettes but nothing that I really remember. In fact it worked just the other day normally... but WHAT'S THIS!?
When the hills went up after I beat that level that happened. (Now this is only the default overworld but I'll be switching it anyway to SMB3) Hopefully the problem won't stay when I switch the graphics. So... what happened? Anyone know? In other news, I'm a little pissy right now because my mom is, to put it vaguely, stealing $1,400 from me. Yep. Just a liiiiiiittle pissed off right now. |

Xbox sucks. Microsoft sucks. Everything's peachy when you're not with Microsoft. I don't even know why they bother.

What I did was do something I'm not supposed to do, I editted the Zelda room... totally. I didn't notice any problems with it... other than this. I'm not sure that would be the reason though.

I erased one of the files on my ROM and started a new one and it still did it.

I do stuff like that a lot. Sometimes in RPGs I'll try to collect 99 of every possible item... or in stuff like Melee I'll just constantly try to increase pointless variables. Yep, I get bored easily. |
