The title music is even wackier. Sounds like 30 different songs mashed together and played at 5x speed. Doesn't loop well though. ![]() |

Yeah, I was hoping you wouldn't be so quick to admit you goofed. But I took the screenshot and I'm damn well going to post it whether it makes sense or not.

| I'd pre-order it. Not because I want a GTA Mario/Zelda game, but because I want a GTA game programmed by competent coders (read: not Rock Star). | |||

8388607 is the highest possible 24-bit signed value. in other words it's the most an item can cost. Also, I wrote this entire post before it actually shwed up due to THIS FUCKING LAG. (Hence the bad spelling. )
OK this is fucking ridiculous. I pressed the Volume Down key like a whole minute ago and iut's still blaring. It finally responded (and showed my post) after I typed that last post. After TWO AND A HALF MINUTES. Once again, SCREW YOU to whoever says Java doesn't kill your RAM. |

Originally posted by asdf This happened the first time I installed it. Any Java program (even applets in web pages ) would freeze the computer entirely. After reinstalling Windows for a number of other reasons, and eventually convincing myself to install Java again, it worked fine.
Of course that was a horribly shitty system with a seemingly defective CPU/motherboard, so...
Of course, right now it's only using 150MB, a 200MB drop from last time I checked. Problem is it's doing a shitload of HD access (downloading 8GB on bittorrent does that) and lololol, for some reason, is also using 150MB, adding up to 300 of the 256MB I have, plus what all the other apps are using.
...Why the hell is FF using 150MB with only 4 tabs open anyway? Must have to do with having 47 extensions. ![]() (edited by Hyper LOL on 01-27-06 11:49 PM) |

800mhz Celery CPU, 5200RPM hard drive, and either 64, 128 or 192MB RAM (I upgraded twice, forget how much it was at that point) with WinXP. And it was slow RAM too, I think 233mhz or less. Yay HP. ![]() |

It is kind of impressive that they made a pirate GB multicart, though. It's a lot harder than an NES cart, especially since those are like half-empty.
Now I need to get a copy to see what type of memory controller it uses. ![]() |

There are so many reasons to release your code, though.
If you're concerned that people will steal your work and just claim it as their own, there's 3 things you can do. 1) Get it copyrighted. Yes, you can do this. 2) Add things to prevent this. Partway through a large piece of code, embed a check that will display your name in a message box if certain keys are pressed. Encode the string in the source (even something as simple as using "\x42\x47\x4E\x47" for your name) so a search won't find it. Use unusual coding styles (always placing a certain character after a comment or something similar) that can be easily recognized. 3) Realize that most of the people who would do this are clueless n00bs and will be found out within a few days. Especially since they're not likely to know much about how the program actually works. |

| Documentation can be found around here, mainly in the older threads in the archive.
VL-Tone, you should have edited the grass/ground texture to have your name in it. That would have shut him up pretty nicely. The watermark is a bit hard to see, but I saw it when you grabbed the caps.(edited by Hyper LOL on 01-29-06 10:59 AM) |

| TLP has plenty of advantages, but TM (and YY-CHR if you don't like Java) can do pretty much everything it can. Only thing with TM is dragging and dropping can be wonky at times. I haven't really used YY-CHR much, just don't like its interface. | |||

| Ripping from a save state should work fine. Data has to be decompressed into memory to be used, and VRAM has to contain graphics in raw SNES format.
Unfortunately the images aren't loading... but then, few images in this thread are. BitTorrent must be hogging my bandwidth. ![]() |

They should just make it so you can switch them or rotate the whole assembly for GBA games.
I'm curious about it actually using a power switch... that means the system can't be turned off by software, which some things do actually use. |

Damn, I guess it checks for integer overflow. And there are actually a few different versions, they all have the same effect though.
Oak being a trainer probably is done to make him show up at the beginning. It's weird, yes, but we're talking about a game that mixes BCD and regular integers, re-uses everything for everything else (trainers defined as Pokémon, short bits of text defined as item and attack names, etc). |
