Yeah, I almost wonder if I'd be better drunk.

Count me in for the NDDR though.

Well, they're in the castle, and she's not. They must have known Bowser took her to some castle, and it's not the one they're in, so it's another one.

Hm, that girl in your layout is the one in the hack, isn't she?

BTW, nice graphics, but it looks like she forgot her pants. The legs should come down to at least the knee, and it doesn't look like that's the case.

Unless she's just wearing shorts or something.

Power button: The delay helps but not a lot. It's only like half a second. You generally hold up, not just press it.

Fragile carts: Only thing I'd worry about is crushing them or touching the connectors. Unfortunately it's easy to touch them. They may be tough but it only takes one static jolt to the connector to fry any device.

Rebooting after menus: Makes sense because the menus and Pictochat are like built-in games. However, it would have been piss-easy to just add a bit in the settings to fake-reboot. Menu program sets the bit and resets all the hardware, as if you'd powered off and on again. Bootup code checks that bit and if it's set, skips directly to the main menu and clears it. Resetting the hardware could be difficult, but the bootup procedures should set up everything they need to, so just putting things back the way they are at startup and jumping to them should work fine.
I think it's actually a security thing - the encryption logic cannot be restarted except by powering off (and cannot be powered off via software).

Small buttons: Yes! My finger tends to cramp after a while because of the akward position I have to hold it in.

Pictochat offline: The online stuff wasn't ready. But that doesn't mean they couldn't have updated it when it was. Games can update the firmware. It does make a handy notepad though.

Polarium: Demo rocks. Dunno about the actual game.

Bugs under the screen: Sure you're not just twisting the DS? That tends to make funny patterns on the screens. I can't imagine how a bug could get under the top screen.

Also if you're not happy with missing features or games, do some homebrew. DS can play MP3s and videos, view slideshows, and run NES/SNES/GBC/etc emus, and things like IRC clients and web browsers are in the works.

If you're trying to do this for your own program, then yeah, just act as if you kept recieving it. Maybe use PostMessage() to send another one if no mouseup message has come in yet.

If you want another program to have this behaviour, that's going to be more difficult. You can 'hijack' the message handler in older versions of Windoze, but for some reason in newer versions MS decided you can only do that if the window belongs to your program.

No. If you consider her to be way out of proportion one way, and her opposite to be way out the other way, then the most attractive would be around the middle between them. Like some sort of weird bell curve.

That's one of the problems with ASM hacks. There's no real way to keep track of what uses what RAM address. (A list could help, but everyone would need to put their addresses in it, and they might not.)

However, most memory maps mark what appears to be free space. Those filled with 0x55 are never touched by the game.

Well, there's your problem. You don't have any ROMs.

Seriously, though, you should get SNESTOOL. It can add and remove headers. And you'll need a headered rom to use Lunar Magic. If all else fails, look elsewhere for an already headered rom.

Best post ever. I nearly choked on my drink.

They must be small bugs, then. There's not a lot of space in there.

You mean actually touching the connectors with your finger? That seems like it'd be an incredibly difficult task to me. The pins are all divided by pieces of plastic that stick up quite a bit. The dividers are all very close together and high enough up that your finger can't easily hit the pins. I think you'd have to press your finger against the connector area very hard in order to even get close to touching them.

Well you don't need to actually touch them, just get close. And if you had the games in your pocket it'd be easy to accidentally grab them by the end.
