Coding in Notepad, eww.

I need to reinstall VB6 at some point; supposedly I'm going to be writing some software for work. Except I don't have enough HD space free.

Yep, castles #6 and #3 are my least favourite of the bunch. Mainly because of the bosses, but the level itself in #6 is no picnic either.

Posted on 01-25-07 03:57 AM, in This is why I like playing games on an emulator... Link
I'd use rewind in place of save states, but when it does work, generally it "jumps" back a few seconds, which in platform/action games just screws me up further, because it always manages to go back to just as I was jumping, causing me to fall and/or screw up horribly.

NESDS has a nice rewind feature which I abuse the hell out of.

Also I found that YI layer trick a while ago, pretty funny. I think there's other bonus games you can do it in.

I use 1280x1024 on a 20" LCD, it's nice. I wanted 1600x1200 though like I used on my CRT but that would have cost a fortune. It makes up for that though by not being a giant blurry piece of junk that heats up the house.

My chair used to be something like this, except it was smaller, red and black with one big Mickey on it, and made entirely out of rectangular blocks of foam of some sort. Since my computer was practically on the floor and this was something soft, I used it. It ripped in a number of places.

Probably depends on the brand/sensitivity of your taste buds/amount of research I actually bothered to do on how long a bag of chips lasts past its expiry date.

Ever download a 6GB file? Theoretically it can be fast, but realistically... And this is 6GB per minute, or 720GB per 2-hour video. Compare at ~8GB for a 2-hour DVD... I can't see average download speeds getting 90 times faster in the next 3 years.

But then Sony will break your legs. Or at least, you'll need to wait for a modchip or import all your games too.

Sounds like the game may be using dictionary compression, and when you decided to go with the default name, it for whatever reason simply inserted the code for "Marche" instead of the actual text (IE save file names are dictionary compressed too for some silly reason).

My high school tested some automated quiz program once. Man was it dumb. It would mark you wrong if your answer didn't match letter-for-letter (eg "Texas" is wrong, correct answer is "The state of Texas" or some such stupidity) and sometimes even if it did. It failed everyone and the teachers ended up grading them all by hand anyway.

Those teachers did nothing but look for ways to get out of work. Often we'd simply be told to exchange papers with the person next to us (not even specifying a direction, leading to much confusion) and grade their work as the teacher read off the answers. Needless to say, this never actually worked; people would always just mark their friends' work right whether it was or not (sometimes correcting it on the fly), or in many cases, just not exchange papers and grade their own.
