Most tech support sucks actually (Bell, Western Digital, Microsoft*...) Just most companies don't sink as low as Sony.

*I called these guys out of boredom. They wanted me to pay for the privelige of being on hold.

I never got that SMB3 brick to work right anyway. I set it up right but half the time it'd smash if I hit it from the top or sides.

At 7E8000-7EFFFF and 7F8000-7FFFFF is what's known as the Map16 data (low and high bytes respectively), which is the decoded level layout. Each entry in this array is a 16x16 tile number. This is what you need to modify if you want your changes to stick, however, nobody who's found out how to determine a block's address will tell anyone. The address can vary depending on the level style (horizontal/vertical, 1 or 2 layers, memory options, etc), so it's complicated. You might have to update VRAM as well, I've never actually done it, so I dunno.

The molecules system... they would have to find a way of marketing affordable 100tb memory cards or something first. Molecules cannot be seen and there are several billion in a crumb of bread. Although it's interesting, it's far-fetched.

I think pixel-sized would probably do fine for this purpose. It would be difficult, though, especially since all modern systems are designed to work with polygons. It might be more feasible if the device in question was designed specifically to do molecules, but then it probably couldn't do polygons.

Yeah, SMK had way too little track space.

Also, I found it's much easier to blow up balloons if you aren't moving when you do it. This of course isn't explained anywhere.

So which is this game closer to? SMRPG, Paper Mario, or M&LSS? I'm considering buying it, but I really didn't like M&LSS. Too frustrating.

Can you, uh... Not read, or something? He said where he lived, the choices were between Roger's internet and Sympatico. Since Bell Sympatico is an ISP, any reasonable person could conclude that this Roger's Internet is an ISP as well, and while the yahoo browser thing is likely an IE variant, it's not going to interfere with whatever it was.

Uh... WTF are you trying to say exactly? He said he had "Roger's Yahoo Browser", and asked if he could use another browser without messing it up. I pointed out that he could and that since this Yahoo browser is probably just IE in a new shell, he may as well use IE instead.

Yeah, that's why I had to switch. Hopefully they'll realize how out-of-date bandwidth caps are and remove it.

Okay.

Right.

I suppose I should have mentioned that I'm talking to HyperHacker here, just so as to not violate this rule I just uncovered.

Not that he shouldn't post it, just that he shouldn't just assume everybody will understand it.

These folders wouldn't happen to be in \Windows? I set up a network between this computer (XP Pro SP2) and another (98), and even though I gave this one full access to C: and all subfolders, it would give access denied errors for C:\Windows; I had to use the Admin$ share (which is mapped \Windows). XP might not do this though.

Off topic a bit, why doesn't your XP Pro system have SP2?

In short; I haven't had a single problem wtih my HP yet.

Didn't you call that thing the Trash Can 3000 or some such? Anyway I guess HP is a gamble. I know mine was junk, and I've heard a lot of similar horror stories. Maybe it depends where you buy it.

Though when you tried to upgrade, didn't you find it really cramped inside? I always had to take nearly everything out to get at the RAM or CPU.

You sure it actually stopped, and wasn't just taking a while? Programs often do that 'not responding' thing in XP when they're really just waiting on something. It'd be pretty odd for a virus to just stop the scan once it's found; generally they'd stop the scanner from opening or make it just act like it didn't find anything.

More fun things to try:
-Stand in a doorway, and push against both walls with your arms for a minute or so. When you leave, your arms will just kinda float up.
-Videotape a TV remote. Some cameras can supposedly see the IR beam. (I swear, I saw it with my own eyes once... couldn't do it again though. )
-Shine laser pointers at random things, some have odd results. If I shine one at the remote sensor on my TV, it reflects a weird pattern onto the table it's sitting on. Also fun to tease pets with.
-Point a video camera at the TV/monitor displaying its output.

I got one to work once. Usually they don't... but then usually I don't actually try, because they're lame.
