It's not the size of the point, it's how many you have and how much they hurt when stabbed into one's nose.

Hmm, I'm not seeing the whole Status Bar color thing, can someone point that out a bit more specifically =s (and ignore the "TIME" text and the pic with the green status bar colors for now)? Are there too many colors in it? Or, were you saying about the green colors?

Yeah, the green in the third image. The font is nice but the blue numbers against dark backgrounds are a bit hard to read.

The fast ROM patch only changes a few bank numbers to make the game run in banks 80-FF (fast ROM) instead of 00-7F (slow ROM). Possibly there's some code changed but I don't believe so. Reapplying the other patches should fix that, though you really should have applied it first.

VBA still loads the save file OK? Try renaming it while VBA is running, then save and see if it makes a new one the correct size.

Yeah, I've had that. Spring matresses ftl.

Also my chair is decent but I keep sitting with my legs up on the bed, which does get to be a pain after a while. I probably shouldn't.

Funny, I was just playing that earlier, but only to decipher some text codes.

Perhaps Alastor meant "hai" as in "yes" as in "G/S/C > R/B/Y > all the other Pokey Man games".

Wii, posting from a whee! ...Or something like that.
I found one at EB Games, no Zelda tho. Typing on this is a pain; could be vastly improved with minor tweaks. Wii Sports is mildly amusing, but seems to lose track of the Wiimote. After a few swings my bat ends up way off from where it should be, forcing me to bat left-handed, or my club only responds if I hold it in front of mf chest and swing (carefully!) toward my face, and I can no longer do less than a half-power shot. Anyone else had this problem?
Gonna try Excite Truck in a minute, we'll see if it's better there.

Also the browser's word-guessing feature is dumb. It goofs up if you backspace, doesn't account for hyphens and other punctuation, and keeps adding ".us" to the end of words it inserts at random. Also, after any symbol such as #$@ etc, you can't type an uppercase letter, which is a pain when your password starts like this. And why is "nagasaki" one of the first in the list for "n"? First, how often does an English spea-- OK why can't I type anymore, bah, finishing this on the computer --ker use this word, and second, why does it not start with a capital?

Yeah, the browser is neat but needs work.

Yeah, I was surprised too. Excite Truck is sweet, especially when you play your own music in it. Not easy, but once you get the hang of it (tip: the D-pad is NOT used for steering) not especially difficult either. Nintendo needs to learn about a little thing called directories though, as opposed to listing all the images/MP3s/etc on the entire SD card when you choose an image or song. (And you have to be viewing an image slideshow to play MP3s in the Wii Menu, and it supports only .jpg, .mov and .mp3. )

The controller can turn the system on and off which is a nice bonus. Now when I get up I can turn it on, check the weather to see if it's worth going to work, play some music to keep me from falling back asleep, etc all from bed. Yay laziness. Also, no noticeable responsiveness problems in ET (lol), except sometimes if you turn really hard to the left you start going right, not hard to avoid though.

Now I want Zelda. BTW, those who are complaining of slow updates might want to do as the manual says and use wireless channels 1 or 11 on your router. Seems to work just fine for me. (And I can tell whenever it accesses the Internet because lines will flicker on the screen because my TV is old and tiny.)

One minor thing that bugged me was the A/V cables. For three generations Nintendo has used the same connector; you could take the cables from a SNES and use them with an N64 or Gamecube. I found this quite useful; leave one end plugged into the TV and switch the other end as necessary. Wii, however, has some new cable connector.

Also: this thing is freaking small!

Are you sure the text is DTE and not just variable-width font?

Also, when "random" numbers are generated via a big long equation that produces results that seem to be random, it's generally called pseudorandom, IE, as close to random as a computer can get. Without extra hardware to do something crazy like grab random radio signals out of the air, a computer can't generate truly random numbers, only numbers whose pattern is very difficult to determine.

One other thing, an easy way to think of data structures is much like they'd be written in most programming languages. For example, a game might use this structure for character stats:
Name (10 bytes)
HP (2 bytes)
Max HP (2 bytes)
Attack (2 bytes)
Defense (2 bytes)
Magic Attack (2 bytes)
Magic Defense (2 bytes)
Speed (2 bytes)
Class (1 byte)
Level (1 byte)
That's 26 bytes in the structure in total. Now if you have a big table of character stats, just think of it as several of these structures in a row (generally called an array of structures). If you want character #4's max HP, you look at the 5th structure in the table (start at zero), so 26 * 5 = 130, and the max HP is 10 bytes from the start of the structure, so go 140 bytes from the start of the table. Simple eh?

Yeah, always back up before patching. This is a common problem with SMW hacking; various patches are incompatible with eachother because they both change the same code or use the same free space.
