You mean actually helped, like a living instruction manual/teacher who does whatever the hell I want? I might. Otherwise, probably not. (Not to say I might not eventually switch anyway, but it wouldn't be because of some ugly penguin girl.)

Who knows, maybe by then a better ISP will be available. If you ever get the chance to get Cogeco and can live with a 15GB/month bandwidth limit (for $50/month, or 30GB for something like $65), do it. No shitty software required and the tech support is freaking awesome. (Also, if it's of any benefit to you, your IP only changes like once every 16 months. )

Yeah, I would suggest if you want IE, use IE and not this Roger Yahoo crap that's most likely just IE with a craptastic new interface. Though you can have as many browsers installed as you want. I even have both Mozilla and lololol for testing purposes (and of course IE).

Alright, I think we're almost done here. Only two things I feel I need to reply to this time.
Hyper Hacker, reading through the whole thread, I have to agree with Thayer; you're not making a load of sense.
To sum up what happened for you, the .net part was changed, and it made linking very annoying. When Xk said "Exploicit," he meant "explicit," which was obvious, because he said that it was a typo afterwards.
And yet, I still fail to see where that explains the actual change involved. Had either of you correctly said "more specific", the sentence would have made actual sense. I can read posts fine. What I can't read is minds. When your post doesn't say what you intend it to, how can you expect me to read it as if it does?

Context, context, context. The post you've quoted is a direct reply to your own in which you quoted Xk. It should thus be obvious to most that the 'that' I speak of is Xk's post which you quoted. Said post contains not one piece of information regarding what, specifically, was changed.
If you can't understand that post, then there's seriously something wrong with you here. Xkeeper's post was perfectly understandable from my point of view, which is just about as normal as yours.

Now if people are going to complain that I supposedly don't read others' posts, wouldn't it be good for them to read others' posts? Specifically, the ones where I already addressed this. Always keep in mind that the Internet is worldwide. Language, however, is not. Maybe where you live, people use 'explicit' in place of 'specific'. If you do that anywhere I've ever been, people simply scratch their heads. To compare, what would you think if I said I had a lot of crap laying around? Around here, it's common that 'crap' = 'junk, while elsewhere it only means 'bad things' or 'poop'.

There is a large difference between a flame and disapproval. Thayer posted a notification of annoyance and disapproval about the change of the domain name. It was not an attack, therefore it cannot, under any circumstances, be considered flame. Saying it's a flame is like saying a good review of a Nintendo game makes that person a Nintendo fanboy.

This is mainly a matter of opinion. Personally, when someone says things like "it's retarded" and "way to be lame", then that's leaning toward being a flame. If he'd said "I think it's retarded", that would be a different matter entirely.

There was one time my computer started looping this really weird noise for no apparent reason until I rebooted. I still have it on tape somewhere, so when I find the cable, I'll upload it somewhere.

You should try not having such high display width/ratio. Or a monitor with a high amount of physical display room.

Also, this topic is basically in ruin. Prior posts, such as SWR's, Sukasa's, and Squash's assist far too much in finding what is odd about our posts.

Posted on 12-29-05 09:21 AM, in Which VCR function would you prefer as a superpower? Link
Or like someone else mentioned, get a full 12 hours sleep in 0 seconds.

Both have their drawbacks. Overusing pause, like Zem said, would mean you age faster. (Unless you didn't age while paused. That'd be cool.) Plus what of all the memories you accumulate while paused? You can't tell anyone because they'd simply think you're looney (or worse, discover your secret), and eventually you'd end up with so many it'd be hard to remember which were which.

As for rewind, if you can't keep your memories, you'd do the same thing again and go into an endless loop of doing it, rewinding, doing it, rewinding, etc.

Oh and what about that VCR/TV function? You could switch someone's view of the world between reality and the version you've fucked up with your superpowers.

There are so many better keys not listed here. Ctrl+Z, Alt+F4, Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Escape... my keyboard also has play/pause/etc, search, volume, and sleep.

Out of these, though, insert would be most useful. Taking Gywall's examples, you could simply insert a towtruck behind his car, towing it away, or insert poison into someone.

Edit can replace all of them.

Delete: Edit the object in question to not exist, to be in the sun, or to be tiny and stomp on it.

Copy: Edit some useless object to be an exact copy of something else.

Shortcut: Edit your body to have wings. Or edit the price of a plane ticket.

Virus scan: Edit out viruses.

Edit: Eh.....

Translate: Edit the language, or just use it to turn [insert stupid class here] into a free, ridiculously effective class that will teach you the language really fast.

Also, you could fix that testicle thing pretty easy.

BSOD would knock people out. (And for the record, I've had BSODs on XP SP2... you generally have to really fuck something up, but not always.)

Yeah, thanks to that rootkit crap I won't be buying from Sony anymore, but anyway... I don't think there's an actual SNES emu for DS that works really well yet, but there will be. (There is an emu, but last I heard it still had a lot of work to be done.)

If you insist. This is actually 2 glitches

1) You know when you talk to that old guy, it starts a battle with him catching a Pokémon? In a battle, it always shows your name, but they needed it to say 'OLD MAN' instead. Their solution was to copy your name to an unused part of memory, change it to 'OLD MAN', and then change it back when you were done talking to him. Rather than reserve 8 bytes just for this, they decided to use the bytes that determine which Pokémon should appear in the grass. This seemed a perfect solution as there's no grass there, and once you enter a map where there is, it'll load the proper Pokémon set. Except...

2) In what appears to be a mistake, the game designers made the 'edge of land/water' tiles a tile on which you can encounter Pokémon... problem here is it uses the same set as grass, not the water set. Since these maps don't have any grass in them, they didn't specify what Pokémon should be in the grass, so it stays set to what it was last. (This is why if you fly there after being in grass elsewhere, you find the same Pokémon as in that grass... even from the Safari Zone. ) What do you think happens if you fly here after talking to the old guy? Yep - your name is still in the wild Pokémon list. Since a lot of the unused Pokémon IDs are Missingno (internal IDs in this game don't correspond to their number, they're all mixed up), and it's likely that one of the letters of your name is an unused Pokémon ID, there you go. (Yes, this means the letters of your name determine what you fight... I had a list of it at one point, dunno where though. No, you can't fight Mew unfortunately, because none of the letters match his ID. But you can fight Mewtwo, the 3 legendary birds, and the 3 starters. )

Interesting side note... You know at the beginning, when you can choose from the 3 default names or enter your own? The names are laid out like this in ROM:
RED|ASH|JACK|BLUE|GARY|JOHN
| is the 'end of string' character; the game will stop printing text when it hits this. I haven't confirmed this, but it looks like when you choose a default name, it actually copies 8 letters no matter what you choose. So if you choose JACK, your name is actually 'JACK|BLU', but the game stops printing at the |. This has an effect on the Pokémon you fight as well. (Yes, your name is 8 letters; normally the 8th is always the end-of-string character, because if you actually used 8 letters, there'd be no room for it and the game would crash.)

Have you tried moving it, like putting it on the ground? Maybe it's supposed to be a sign or some such, but you can't read it where it is because you have to be standing still.

Or maybe it's the exit from Big Boo's Haunt.

So do some Zelda games; OoT and LA, I know for sure. OoT only has Japanese and English, but you can switch them with a GS code. I've heard the PAL version shows a language select screen if the save files get completely wiped too.
