Yes, most of the custom blocks ignore Yoshi status and even temporary invincibility, star power, etc.

this would be problematic, though, because the player could do something stupid like get themselves killed, they'd be able to move to a new level with the wrong Yoshi.

Unless the level has a No Yoshi intro, you lose Yoshi when you die. Start+Select could be an issue though.

But do they turn off the routers? You could always try sneaking a wireless router in there. Also, DS games ignore signals that aren't strong enough for reliable gaming while still being useable to some extent for web browsing. There's some homebrew apps that will find any signal, even those far too weak to be of any use.

Of course, schools being a public building, they may well let you just head into their computer labs and use one while they're open if you ask first. Mine always did.

You can't really do permanent damage by killing processes one at a time. Though it sounds like there's no reason at all they should be watching you if they have backups and give you admin access anyway, so the best course of action might be to just have a chat with them about how you feel violated. They'll probably spew the usual "it's our property" crap but at least you tried.

A lot of those images are obvious fakes because the TV is still on. A CRT would pretty much implode, and an LCD/plasma would pour all over the place. Not entirely sure about a projection TV (which aren't designed for games anyway) but I doubt they'd still be displaying a picture with a giant fucking hole in the screen either.

Indeed. I happen to know from personal experience that stepping on the spiky part and making the handle fly up and hit you in the face does, in fact, hurt at least as much as Sideshow Bob makes it look.

Me: Hey, I heard the wireless card driver in my laptop has a security bug in it that's been patched, but your website doesn't have the patched version. When's that coming out?
Them: Hey, before we can help we need the serial number on the bottom of the system.
Me: Right, it's [some big number here].
Them: No, that's not it. It's a 13-digit number next to the Gateway logo. Also, we need to know where and when you bought the system.
Me: That's either [some other number] or [another number because there's two of them for some reason]. I bought it at blahblah on blahblah.
Them: No, that's not it either. It's a 13-digit number next to the Gateway logo.
Me: Here's a photo of every piece of text on the bottom of the system. There's no such number in the spot your website says there should be.
Them: OK, thanks. Now we just need to know where and when you bought it and its serial number.
Me: ........

You'd think someone doing tech support would have the intelligence to look at previous messages from the conversation.

Yeah, extension cords are good for that but then you end up with a ton of wires running everywhere and all your cords used up.

...and I'm making absolutely sure previews work. You know those bugs that only happen one in 100 times...

If you're sick of the song I suggest you just stay away from any audio-related device I have control over.

WTF? This thread made me dream I woke up in an alternate reality where Germany had won WWII, making everything slightly worse and rearranged today. I stole my dad's truck (pissed him right off) to go look for a way back to the real world along with a few friends of mine who just kinda disappeared at some point.

Then I dreamed I was in the beach level in Banjo-Kazooie (rearranged somewhat, and literally in it, playing with toy cars in the sand with those same people) and noticed the haunted house level's music was playing. Yeah, weird.

I should point out to any Germans here that the content of my dreams rarely reflects my opinion or reality in general in any way, shape or form, and that I have no opinion or clue as to what the world would be like had Germany won WWII.

Honestly, what really got me was realizing I don't think I've seen an SMW overworld done in top-down RPG overworld style before. Plus, it looks awesome, ripped or not.
