A lot of people enjoy white noise, and bright lights bug me too. I had to put electrical tape over the light on my joypad (why there's a light on it I don't know) because it'd light up the whole room and keep me awake.

Anyway, two important points to make here.
1) Nintendo will never use a Sony product in their consoles. That's why N64 was cartridge-based. Playstation was going to be a SNES add-on, but when that fell through, well, you know.
2) Betamax was technically superior to VHS too. Everyone seems to forget that. For that matter pretty much every system to compete against Nintendo, and certainly every handheld (except the cheapo ones you get in dollar stores that just have 42 Tetris variations built in), has been more powerful than Nintendo's.

Yesterday as I was walking past a supermarket I saw two people come out with bags of milk, then drop the bags and run. They were properly bagged, so I doubt they'd been stolen. Nobody really paid attention to them.

I'll post my laptop's next time I have it running and remember to post it. (And I don't have 2 monitors anymore... but the one LCD I do have is a hell of a lot less blurry/blinding/heat-producing than the CRTs I had.)
