I traded a level 200-ish Nidoking (about 15 minutes worth of work ) for a real Mew back in the day. Then the save file got erased.

Playing with the OT and other stats via Gameshark to make authentic-looking Mews and other Pokémon with funny stats was amusing too. Give a Pokémon an impossible name or something and trade it to someone else and see how they react.

Or better, make a second frame counter that only runs while playing (not while paused or what have you), and once it hits 60, reset it and increment your seconds counter.

But one of the things I liked most about YI was not having a time limit...

My dreams rarely make any sense at all. They're getting less random though. They're now more like a game with a very broken script engine (things happen randomly, doors don't lead where they should, etc) than a game with a very broken 3D engine (just a lot of colourful crap filling my field of view) like they used to be.

Those addresses should be in the SMW memory map at SMWCentral.

It will run 6B (RTL) and return.

That doesn't ensure it works on a real SNES, unless you tried it on one. But when I asked that I was thinking Game Boy (where putting code in SRAM could be a nice way to make it accessible from any ROM bank) as opposed to SNES (where SRAM is in its own bank anyway), so it's probably not really useful.

I've had dreams within dreams like that before, but it's rare. The only one I remember is having an odd dream, waking up, and telling my mom about it (all very realistic except for the third-person view), only to wake up again, for real this time.

Another dream... everything was black and I felt frozen and blind. I could see a hint of light, but if I tried to stand up and move away I was back in the bed within seconds for some reason. I felt trapped and paniced and was stuck like that for quite awhile which was probably the worst part. That I didn't wake up right away.

Sounds like sleep paralasys - your brain wakes up but your body doesn't. It can be pretty freaky. Don't think I've had it though.

Tarale, I agree, that test screen is creepy. Also, sounds like you're stressed about getting to work on time. Maybe you should be getting up earlier.

Also, last night for what I belive is the first time, I had a dream where I was someone else entirely. Imagine playing a video game and suddenly when you start the game the main character is replaced by someone completely different that you've never seen before; that's about what it was like. I was a Mexican man with a baby and needed to smuggle myself and the baby out of the country with the help of a girl (who I also don't recognize but I think may have been one of the girls on my desktop background). Apparently the border was just a few blocks down the road when in reality it's a few hundred kilometers (same direction though AFAIK). I put the baby in the trunk and was going to climb in too, when she pointed out there was room for me in the front seat. Suddenly my plan changed from "get me and the baby across the border secretly" to just "get the baby across the border secretly", as if it wouldn't matter if they saw me. So I left the baby in the trunk. It was well protected, but that still seems like an odd thing to do.
We did get across the border and stopped at some weird combination bath house/restaurant/dance theater. We went in to eat (both of our appearances drastically changed at this point), forgetting about the baby entirely, and that's about it.

Makes me wonder if I'd be a good father.

Posted on 10-04-06 12:08 AM, in I have a couple questions about Trade Marks Link
I recall him saying he made it up based on his name backwards written Japanese style. Though it could easily have been made up by someone else. I remember when someone else joined this board(?) as "Hyper Hacker", fortunately didn't stick around long. He said he'd never seen me around before. Also, I certainly didn't know of any Macintosh hacking program by the same name when I made up mine.

Of course you might be able to use your name as the name of something you can copyright or trademark, and then go after him. I doubt you'd have much luck registering the trademark after he uses it though.

I've had that, and yes, it's quite annoying. I get a weird state where I know I'm dreaming, but still can't really control it, and am aware (loosely) of both the dream and my real-life surroundings at the same time. I may even hear and understand everything the teacher says, but not remember it. (Hence why I suck at trigonometry. This always, always happened during math class. Well that and grade 9 science but that was all basic stuff I already knew anyway.)

Also I noticed I often wake up minutes before my alarm goes off - especially if the power's gone out, preventing it from actually going off - even though I tend to just stay up as long as I feel like (anywhere from 11PM to 6AM) and then set the alarm for 6-9 hours later, forming no pattern whatsoever. It's like my body keeps track of time almost perfectly and wakes me up right when I wanted to, but only occasionally (not nearly enough to rely on). The part that freaks me out is it happens almost every time the alarm clock fails. I just wake up and see it flashing or not on at all, but when I look at my watch it's like 3 minutes before it would have gone off anyway.

Sometimes even just the power going out or coming back on wakes me up, even when it makes no noise. It's weird.

Well like I said it doesn't matter anyway, unless you're really really short on space and can save a lot by compressing routines and decompressing them to SRAM there isn't much point. (And chances are graphics would be better used for that, because they'd compress better.) It is important that your hacks work on real hardware. but this specific hack has no purpose I can think of on a SNES, so there's no point testing it.

As for your problem, try INC $7E0DBF. Could be some problem with the way one of the emulators handles the data bank register.

If you modify the first 1MB of data in the ROM, you have to update a checksum in the header to match it, else the game's init code goes into an infinite loop. Some emulators like 1964 and Nemu force it to break out of the loop or just ignore the boot code entirely and fake it (since most games use the same code), so the games still run in them.

Don't. I jumped out a second floor window once (it was an emergency) and my god it hurt. I was lucky nothing broke. (And I even landed on a few pillows.) About halfway through the fall I realized I had been falling much longer than I'd estimated (it didn't look far down at all, but it was) and just thought "oh shit ".

On this note, if I were ever rich, I would amuse myself by buying weird combinations of items at grocery stores.

Like, say... 10 packs of condoms, 30 jars of peanut butter, 10 jars of vaseline and a couple bottles of chocolate syrup. And then pick a register with a cute girl working the register and try to pick her up during the exchange.

And suppose none of the registers had a cute girl working at them? =P

Then pick the ugliest guy.
