Well yes, if you could somehow put those characters in your name, you could do it that way. You'd have to hack the game to do it anyway though.

IIRC the end result is the same: the game uses the wild Pokémon data as temporary storage, you go to the island, it has no wild Pokémon data and thus uses the random junk that was stored there before, and you find glitches. All really boils down to a screwup when designing the tileset (the edge-of-water tile should have been set to water Pokémon, not grass Pokémon), and in the Mew case, another screwup when coding the trainer walk routine (forgot to disable Start).

Getting back on topic, the fact that this menu is used in the Japanese versions explains why they only hid the button rather than removing the whole thing. It's a lot easier to change the interface a bit and just stick the button in some out of the way spot where it's not likely to be found (they had to edit the interface anyway to translate it) than to edit the code for a specific region. The code is probably the same for all versions, just with different resources.

The things you find on Google.

Pointless blinking text? Check. Background images that don't repeat correctly? Check. Broken links? Check. Designed specifically for IE? Check. Bad organization? Check. (Look under Card "Cupture" Sakura - only one of those images has anything to do with CCS.) Horrid grammar? Check, check and check.

The only things missing are popups, an embedded MIDI or two, and scrolling marquees. The first two could very well be present (I see some ad code in there), but I have them blocked.

I like your enemy ideas, though a few suggestions:

-Dry Bones might be better called Ban Evader. "IP Switcher" is kinda :-/ from a technical standpoint.
-Not just catgirl... DEMENTED catgirl. When you step on them they get down on all fours and motor (the squished Rex) as a real cat probably would.
-Board Error is a funny idea, but glitched tiles would be ugly. Maybe a big message box that says "MySQL Error" or something. Or just a horde of n00bs (dunno how they'd fly, but you could just keep them on the ground).
-Spiny could be an NES cartridge with "DUH" written on it or something dumb like that.

That is as close to what you are looking for as I could find... I like the 5 character length names . There is a list of changes in the readme, like buying more then 1 item in shops.

Hm, that makes actual changes to the gameplay. I'm looking for strictly bug fixes and minor improvements that don't really change how you play the game (such as bulk item buying).

You know, a Nintendo DS costs about $130. A 4GB CF card costs maybe $100-$150. GBA Media Player and Max Media Launcher both cost $20. That totals $270 to 320 for something that plays more music formats and better games than iPod with 4GB of storage. (Obviously you could go for a smaller card if it fits your needs.)

Yeah, that almost has to be either a corrupt ROM or faulty memory/CPU in your computer. If it's the latter you'd probably see other programs messing up too, so I'd say go find a better ROM site (or better yet, do it the legal way and dump your own).
