Ooh, here's an odd one I had last night.

Part 1: My house is now some weird combination of multiple houses I've lived in and one or two schools. There is a small hole in many of the walls, lined up perfectly as if a bullet had gone right through the house. Someone (I think my mom) points out that if I look through one of the holes I can see a fire. Apparently the house is on fire, but for some bizarre reason it's such a tiny, slow-burning fire that it would take years to do any actual damage (right now it's just kinda burning inside the wall) so we leave it there.

Part 2: I'm in this same weird mishmash house. I enter my room and Card Captor Sakura is there. We just kinda talk about stuff as if we knew eachother and as if there were nothing special about the fact that an animé character is in my house. (Nothing sexual happened kthx. )

Part 3: I'm at what's supposedly a video store, but is more like some sort of night club. There's a pool table and a few videos and music CDs scattered about. I look through the music CDs and find some odd videos and CDs, all with names similar to Hamasaki Ayumi (the CD I'm actually looking for). Tetris music with random sound effects plays in the background, some girl throws me a quarter for some reason, and I leave.

Nonsense, but a lot less so than some dreams I have... in this one at least nothing changed shape at random.

They draw the track in a top-down view in mode 7, then use HDMA (I think) to fake a 3D perspective by distorting the layer into a trapezoid. Throw in some backgrounds on other layers, sprites designed to look like 3D models, and voila, pseudo-3D. F-Zero did this too.

Yeah, I can see the animation being annoying. Maybe slowing it down would help. Or I suppose you could just rip each frame into a separate image and tile them all next to eachother.

You gotta admit the black was neat though (but IIRC I saw it at some other board long before they had it).

Pretty sure GBC is far more powerful than NES. It had much more RAM and ~4 to 8 times the CPU speed, and a second background layer (which unfortunately was quite useless due to its lack of transparency).

I used to waste so much time watching Win98's 3D Maze screensaver...Shame it doesn't come with WinXP, or that would easily be my permanent screensaver.

I just hated 3D Maze because it followed the walls, even when it was obvious it was going into a dead-end.

3D Maze is fun when you set all 3 textures to the same image.

Ha, ha, ha... You DO remember when Acmlm's board started over long ago and huge amounts of posts were lost since the last backup, right?

Yep. Backups have certainly been made much more frequently since then haven't they? Smart people learn from their mistakes.

I usually manage to scrounge up something; piece of cheese, pickle, etc. In dire situations I head to the nearest store that's open (there's a 24-hour one nearby) and buy some chips.
