TM has bugs on Windows; you may have corrupted a byte before or after the texture data.

Your SMW hack sounds a bit like my first, which I didn't release because it sucked. Changing palettes at random may be fun, and impress your non-hacker friends, but people here expect a lot more effort to be put into a hack (making new levels from scratch is a must).

SPC700 samples use BRR compression. Some games also streamed sound (upload audio data to the SPC700 in realtime), which makes it impossible to make a .spc dump of them.

First off the European ROM isn't supported in this version, only the US one. If you get that message with a US ROM, it means it's not a good Mario Kart 64 ROM or (guess what) it's in the wrong byte order.

Posted on 08-23-06 04:30 PM, in Looking for a music store. Link
I'm looking for an online music store with several specific properties... haven't had any luck. Anyone know of one?

Things that it MUST have:
  • Good selection of JPop. None of the stores I've found yet have any. Even if the site is in Japanese, I can at least try to stumble my way around. Music from other countries would be a bonus.
  • No DRM! Even if it costs more to download the non-crippled versions. MP3 is fine, OGG or Vorbis is better.
  • Payment by credit card, not Paypal. Ideally none of that contract crap either; just pay 20 bucks and I can download 20 bucks worth of music whenever I feel like it. I could live with a monthly fee system, but I'd like to avoid it.
  • Must serve Canadians. Obviously it'd make no sense for a store selling downloads not to, but that hasn't stopped some.

Other things I'd like to see (but don't require), from most to least important:
  • Previews of the song; download a 30-second clip or something. I'd like to know what I'm getting without having to pirate a copy first.
  • Good speed.
  • Album art.

I'll probably add to this list later.

Unfortunately I think the only solutions would be to obtain and fix the source or run it on a Mac. It's a byte ordering issue, so it probably occurrs on all OSes on little-endian systems (basically everything except PowerPC Mac).
You can often work around it though by just using the + and divide buttons to move ahead or back a byte, or just avoid editing the top left and bottom right pixels.

I think the question of "why do you never see them doing it" is basically the same as "why do you never see them taking a dump". It's just not worth showing and/or would break the rating.

Seriously though, that little shack in Lon Lon Ranch with the cows inside, where you can push some boxes away and crawl through a hole into a mostly empty secluded room... that had to be designed for a specific purpose. *cough*

In a vacuum? Because air will cause friction too.

There are no local comic shops. The best I can do is Animé North once a year and they never really have a lot of music there. (Ironically, the music they played during the rave was some a lot of the best I've ever heard. Any info as to what those songs were called would be appreciated, heh.)

Good luck on that front. The closest thing I can think of is eMusic, but they're subscription. Besides, requiring JPop pretty much rules out everything.

I could tolerate a subscription, but I looked and they didn't have anything.

The magnets can't actually add energy, though. So you're losing a small amount to air friction while gaining none.
