That's just it. Crapidshare is highly unstable. After trying maybe 20 times to get the file, if it's even still accessible and the site is even up, you still might get a corrupted download. It's a huge pain. Also, the downloads are inaccessible by blind people, just to add insult to injury.

Not sure what you mean about the blind people comment, but fine rapidshre its out of the question..

You have to enter text displayed in an image. There's no alternate method for people who can't see it.

All of these free file upload places look about the same. Loads of ads, tiny speed and bandwidth caps, limits on how often and how long a file can be downloaded, and a very lengthy process that doesn't work half the time just to get to the file. Whatever happened to uploading files to some free website host and making a quick hacky page for them? Or maybe using the attatchment feature?

[EDIT] Oh yeah, and they make you wait 48759 seconds to get the download link for no reason other than another opportunity to bombard you with ads. Easy enough to bypass with Proxomitron but still hella annoying, especially having to write such a filter for every site.

From where I am right now I could throw a few apples and glass dishes within a second or so, which is good because the front door is basically right in front of me. There's also some heavy bags and briefcases behind me. It might take 3 seconds to grab and unplug a nearby clock which could be swung around, and there are other throwables near it. Once he's stunned I head into the kitchen and grab a knife, probably in about 5 seconds.

From my bed I could probably grab a nearby TV that's not hooked up to anything and stand up to smash it over someone's head within 3 seconds. I could also smack and/or smother them with pillows I suppose. Within 5 to 10 seconds I should be able to grab a number of heavy/hard things from within my room, such as planks, speakers, NESes (again with swingable controllers), a cordless phone, and other junk.

Worst case scenario, I beat them over the head with my laptop, since that's always nearby. I'd fear wrecking it in the process though.
