(No, it's not just because it's dirty on the inside. I can leave it still, and it'll still randomly bounce around. Someone must've dropped it on the floor and stepped on it, or something. )

Other than that, I have no idea.

Yech, I know what you mean. The scroll wheel on mine is fucked; half the time I scroll down it moves up instead. Why can't anyone make a mouse that doesn't suck?

If I'm wrong about that somebody correct me please.

Hex Workshop has a simple workaround to this: It works on a temporary copy of the file.

It could just not be passing the Caps Lock key to the listener... add something to print the value of every key pressed, then hit Caps Lock a few times. If nothing gets printed, then you need to find another way to see when it's pressed.

The only time Nero reported the size of a disc (a CDR) incorrectly for me was when the disc was messed up. I think it was just too old. If you know this isn't the case, the drive might be busted. When it happened to me, it said there was 700MB available (and I was burning ~650), but failed claiming there was only 300. It was an older version, though.

I had no lag at any point during rounds of SSB. Although I did find two points at which my N64 did not start as it should. It thought only half as fast as usual, producing slow, half-pitch audio and a highly unusual display on my TV, similar to that of a VCR displaying film with nothing on it.

Also, if I am not too slow to ask, I would wish to join in blowing up cars. Oh, and using wrong grammar so that your post will conform to our law is not playing fair.

Joystick, but I tend to use the keyboard for GB/GBC. No$GMB fails at joysticks, and pretty much the only time I play GBC games on the computer is when I'm hacking the crap out of them in which case I'm already using the keyboard to edit and take notes.

Hey, regarding that editor... I got to thinking the other day that Nintendo probably used a binary format for storing the levels on-disk, then converted them to a script format before putting them in the game. If you knew what all the script commands did you could convert them back to a binary format*, edit it there, then make a script out of it, rather than trying to edit the script as if it were binary. I imagine it'd be much easier and more flexible.

*for those who are going to ask how he'd know Nintendo's format... just think about it.

Here's a thought... your disable code runs every frame, right? Add a flag in memory somewhere that disables the code (so that the controller functions normally), and have the code set that flag when it finishes executing. Then add custom block code for block #25, and any other block you can walk through, to clear the flag. When you leave the level, you won't be touching any block, so the code should disable itself.

It helps to know a bit about N64 ASM. It does things 16 bits at a time, so you'd want to search for D1E0. If it is embedded within the code, the address you find it at will end with 2, 6, A or E, and the other half should be nearby also ending with one of those.

Also, like VL-Tone said, N64 games generally load all their code and most data into memory before processing it.

When you scramble inputs, make sure not to randomly pause the game.

Also, when you say 'reverse' what exactly do you mean? I can think of 2 cool ideas this could mean (and having both would rock ):
1) Switch directions so that up=down, left=right etc.
2) Invert the actual bits of specific buttons; say if you did it with Y, then the game would act like you were holding Y as long as you weren't.

Also, 90° d-pad rotation could be neat (up=right, left=up, etc).

Converting existing blocks to use RTL in place of RTS shouldn't be difficult. Or, you can use stack manipulation tricks to let them work with an RTS anyway.

If you're going to do this, I have a suggestion: Copy into some unused RAM addresses the block's coords and Map16 address.
