Your number starts with a zero! omgwtf

Anyway reformatting is the only way to ensure it's 100% clean, but for those address bar entries, try searching for them in the registry.

OK, looks like it's not working with 16-bit colour. My graphics card only supports 16 and 32 bits, so I can't see if it works with 8 or 24. Hopefully that'll be easy enough to fix.

When you go to install Windows, it'd ask you what partition/disk to install on. There you should be able to reformat the partition. What that means, though, is to delete everything and create a brand new filesystem with nothing on it.

If you can't do that, then you should delete every file in Temporary Internet Files. I think IE has a button to open this directory in the options dialog. Your best bet would be to copy the path, write it down or save it in a text file, reboot in Safe Mode, and delete it there (using a console, if you know how, would be even better); this helps ensure it doesn't leave behind files because IE still wants them.

The items on the equipment screen are 2D and can be viewed in Tile Molester. There's no 3D model viewer yet, but you could try using Gameshark codes. You might be able to find ones that darken walls, remove the sky etc so you can get a clear shot, or maybe use the object modifiers to put the models in in place of something else.

You should be slightly more impressed with version 1.1.

Fixed:
  • V1.0 was accidentally using outdated SDL_OPENGLBLIT video mode; now uses SDL_OPENGL like it should.
  • Works on 16-bit colour. Should work on 24-bit but I have no way to test it.
  • Sky colours are no longer backward.
  • Now sets alpha byte for second sky colour.

Added/changed:
  • Verifies the correct ROM and byte order.
  • ROM name is no longer hardcoded; now prompts you to choose a file.
  • Controls can be changed in registry (at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HyperNova\MK64Edit\Keys).

Anyone who can want to try it at 24-bit colour? It should work, though I fear once alpha transparency is supported, it might only show up correctly at 32-bit. :-/ 16 and 24-bit doesn't leave room for an alpha channel.

A few years ago my dad bought this old junk car off a friend. We took it out to some abandoned field and drove around in it. He told me to head over toward a large, empty-looking spot because there wouldn't be mud. I headed toward that spot and must have been doing 90 km/h when I flew over a small cliff right into the middle of a HUGE mud puddle. XD

That error just means it didn't find the registry keys. I should probably get rid of it. It says 640x480 because that's the size of the window.

As for the crash, it could be that your video card isn't powerful enough. The program doesn't yet do any optimizations like display lists or hiding off-screen/far away polygons. Is it prompting you for a level number? (The console window might be hidden behind the main video window.) Does it crash or just hang? Are you sure your ROM is OK?

It already disables (and for that matter doesn't use) the alpha channel, but I don't know how to go about emulating it.

BTW, if it's just sitting there doing nothing after you load a ROM, look for the console window which is probably hidden behind the video window. You need to enter a level number before it actually does anything. I intend to change that soon...

Project 64 is probably your best bet for compatibility. I think Nemu has a way to export the environment though, so you could potentially grab the object's model and just delete everything else.

Redirect ads suck, but with Proxomitron it's usually not too difficult to rewrite the scripts to just send you straight to the page.
And like I said:

Maybe not only sucky ones, but a well-designed one should prove to be quite a problem for a computer. You can use other methods too, such as asking random stupid questions ("what colour is a black cat"), using non-standard field names so generic bots don't recognize them (maybe with fields in a hidden div that they will recognize, and ban anyone who fills them in), requiring something using javascript (press some key) for anonymous users, have them enter an email and send a verification link to it (where you could also provide a quick registration link), etc.
As advanced as OCR technology gets, it's not likely to change the fact that computers are stupid.

Are you sure you posted the entire log file? It doesn't say anything at all after you enter the level number? What OS are you using?

Alright, it's a long shot but try this version. Also I don't know how to generate a map file, but I plan to add an exception handler in the program that should be able to give more information.

I really doubt that. Besides, it depends how many posts per page you have. I only see 50 pages.

Also, I think this may be the first thread to ever max out the view counter (65,535 views).

OK, good. The new version's working for everyone then?
Stupid bug in PromptLevelNum(), I was scanf()ing into a local short, when scanf()'s parameters need to be integers, thus overwriting 2 other bytes on the stack. Dunno why it didn't crash on my system though.

Someone needs to hack it to actually load a level from the table, not just change the pointer.

I opened up my Pokémon Silver cartridge for no real reason today, and I noticed on the back there's 4 pads labelled TP1 through TP4 connected to various parts of the board. Does anyone know what these do? I tested them with a multimeter and #2 and #3 (the only ones I could reach, since they connect to the front of the board) measured +10V, though I suspect that's wrong. I tried shorting #1 and #2, and connecting #1 to +5V and to ground, but it didn't seem to do anything. Do these serve any purpose?

Also, what voltage should the battery be? Mine seems to have died.

[edit] Yeah, I did misread the meter. It's +3V, not +10V.

ROMs that start on 0-1 are bad dumps. They'll only start on 1-1 on bad emulators.
