I have a similar problem; I turn mine off using NirCmd, but when I come back into the room about half an hour later, it's on and the screen saver is running. I'm going to try disabling the screen saver, see if that helps yours too.

Actually, I had a very similar problem when I set my CPU speed too high. If you've messed with anything like that recently, try setting it back to how it was. Also, again, check for driver and firmware updates. If none of that helps, you probably need a new video card.

Anything on Youtube. This is the first video I found a link to, I haven't watched it, so beware. Again, any site that creates the FlashObject using javas |

Eh, most Windows programs muck with file associations and leave crud in the registry. Randomly rebooting sounds like a hardware problem though.

First off,
As for sprite suggestions: -A 1up that runs away from Mario -A Mario 64-style owl -YI-style bridge generators; when spawned they stop everything and create solid blocks to the right until they find a block besides #25 -Stationary Mushrooms, Stars and Feathers; moving Flowers and 3-up Moons -A Missile Bill that homes in both horizontally and vertically -SMB3's spinning red bars Also, let's not forget about the potential to create sprites that modify game settings, such as enabling side exits. You could just have one sprite that writes its X/Y position byte to a given RAM address, and hex edit the sprite itself to change which address, then just use the sprite's coords as the value to write. BTW, in your giant ? block prototype, how are you getting the Map16 address of the block and the ones around it to change? |

GSC or an SSB forum is probably the only place that would have working Infinite Jumps codes for SSB. The game shuffles its memory around, so the address you find through conventional means is only valid maybe 10% of the time. It's amazing how many people don't seem to realize this, as if they don't test their codes.

Hey, speaking of Gamecube ISOs... is it true that the various mod chips available disable the drive's protection to allow loading a DVD by using a debug command in the drive's firmware that was accidentally left enabled, and just modifying the firmware in memory?

Corn may not be accurate, but it's damn fast. If the game you want to play runs in it, then have fun.

The correct way to rip backgrounds involves turning off all other layers and hacking your character's coordinates (or building a level in which you can jump around to see all of the background). Or copying it from a tile editor.

Yeah, those are pretty easy to make in Notepad.
Anyway if you want originality, how about blocks such as Note Blocks, Boost Blocks etc that follow Mario around? Coins that bounce? A giant Bob-Omb that explodes into 3 regular Bob-Ombs? |

I tried that, it didn't help. Embedded Flash (using <embed src=...>) works fine.

If I found 100 spiders in my room I'd burn down the house. I smashed a big one in here just yesterday, despite having raided the hell out of the room the night before.

Oh, you just gave me a nice idea: A door that periodically gets up and wanders around. You could have it wander between screens to change where it takes you. Even fake doors that explode. |
