I loved the Double Dash one, it's pretty exciting. Sharp corners with no guardrails and boost pads littered about tends to make things entertaining (especially when you have 3 wheels off the edge and still make it |
 ). Super Circuit's is kinda fun too, although a Mushroom practically guarantees victory. (That's what makes it especially fun when you're just racing the AI out of boredom, but otherwise, it's a bit of a problem.) SMK's... had nice music  , and MK64's is fun with a turbo hack. If they just cranked up the max speed to ~80km/h for that track it could be pretty cool.
So yeah, I've thought about this before, there really should have been a Rainbow Cup. I guess the DS might have trouble rendering the DD and 64 versions though.

Nah, the Super Game Boy didn't emulate, it actually had a Game Boy built into it. |
The only real purpose of the bootROM is for collection's sake, or I guess you could build a GB/SNES emulator to use it.

Actually that's not really fair. I had a fairly long conversation with a Japanese person through the Google translator and there was almost no misunderstanding. The thing is you have to use very formal sentences and simple words. (Actually most of the time we just sent pictures to clarify. |

I have to think if someone was interviewing me for a job as a programmer or game designer, and I brought in a game console with a really nice ROM hack I'd made, they'd be pretty impressed. I personally consider ROM hacking and making games from scratch to be two very different things, so doing both at the same time isn't unreasonable. The hack is just another demonstration of your skills. (And if the person doing the interview doesn't know that there's a ridiculously easy to use editor, even better. |

I guess I can, but that means having to know how its format works, and write more code to do the conversion. Maybe I'll just keep working on my own. I might have had the format completely wrong after all. |

Whenever I race on that track I always like to stick bananas and item bombs on the ramp. Often by lap 3 it's practically coated in them and you have to slalom through things. Even moreso when I use 5- or 10-lap cheats. |
