No idea yet. It costs around $140-150 in Japan if that's any indication. It MIGHT be out in time for your birthday but that's definitely not a given. The North American release date isn't final yet.

The way I think of it is that I've tried Cherry Coke before, even though it's not available here. I like it. I also like Vanilla Coke. Therefore, unless the mix is totally off, I see myself enjoying the combo.

Danielle is *so* totally addicted to caffeine.

Size, weight, different brightness levels, a few other tweaks... still plays the same games though. It's entirely your call although the Japanese can't wait at all since they're sold out of DS systems there. Nintendo even had to APOLOGIZE because of it. :O

A lot of stats are thrown around about smoking and health and that, though... some of the studies are very well-founded and others are full of holes, really. It's no secret that people who smoke have a higher risk of contracting certain diseases than non-smokers, but at the same time it's a really... I dunno... random thing. You have people who smoke three packs a day and live to be 90 and then have people who smoke half a pack a day and die at 55. There's no rhyme or reason for it.

Quebec's non-smoking law comes into effect on May 31, which won't be bad at first for business since it's during the summer. People won't mind smoking outside in restaurants or bars when it's nice outside. The ban was originally supposed to come into effect on January 1, which was pretty much NOT accepted by owners since we have... well... cold winters. XD You're asking for profit suicide right there. So at least they have an adjustment period for around 4-5 months and then can come up with ways of getting around the ban, like having heated patios outside and things like that.

It's not a game. It's more of a creative tool than anything, so if you buy it thinking it's like a game (missions, tons of stuff to unlock, etc.), then you'll be disappointed. But if you don't mind pulling it out to mess around with, then go nuts. Go in with the right expectations.

I hate coffee and prefer pepsi over coke.

They released Pepsi Cappucino in eastern Europe, actually. Probably more test marketing... that just sounds REALLY weird since it's not even just coffee, it's FANCY coffee.

No, the medal ranking sees Germany ahead of the United States and Canada. We're #3 and that's where we wanted to be.

Gold medal count really means nothing, especially since some countries only grab golds in 2-3 different disciplines while others (like Canada) spread them out across different disciplines. 7 golds in 6 different disciplines for Canada (speed skating (2), curling, hockey, skeleton, moguls, cross-country) is better than the 4 disciplines that the US got them in or the 5 that Germany did - and that includes FIVE biathlon medals, which is just ridiculous. (Actually, on checking it seems we won the most golds in different disciplines, which is a good way of saying our program isn't just mainly focused on one or two areas; we have world-class athletes in a lot of other sports, which bodes well for 2010.)

Oh, and some countries would be screwed if you took out certain sports... I mean, if you take out snowboarding, the United States would only have 18 medals.

Trapster: I meant at the end where Finland did a great job of pressing for the tying goal.

Depends how much we're talking about here... I mean, if someone offered you $5,000 or something (which would be insane but still), I could see you taking it.

...Unless the game becomes really popular and traffic goes to your website and you put up Google Ads and make back a ton of money off it. :\ Which I doubt as well.

Your call, but if it's only $200 or something, and if you really like Tarale... :\

Yes, Ziff, but remember... I'm in Quebec. The attitude about smoking, at least in bars and that, is a little different over here. Granted, if you get any increase in clientele it's going to be the people who couldn't stand going to smoky bars before. Great. But come the winter, the odds are we're going to see a few bars and pubs in pretty bad shape.

Last I checked, the bars and restaurant owners were petitioning for smoking rooms to be put in place, and I think that there's something in the new law that allows for that but with around twenty requirements or so, and I don't think many places meet all of those. Catch-22. So we'll see how things shape up over the next 3 months. It'll be... interesting.
