I find stuff to eat. You know... crackers, cheese, bread, cereal, etc. Even if it's not much, it'll hold me over until mealtime/the next day.

It seems that the American press didn't like it as much as other countries. Content wise and all.

But still...

Eh, some people might not. I mean, I can't see Danielle doing so if she was going to watch a chick flick instead.

I was going to make a thread just like this since it's neat to hear about what people were doing.

I didn't know about the attacks until shortly after 10 AM. I had an early class at 8:45 and we were watching a video about research methods. Bleh. No interruptions during class or anything, so I was blissfully unaware. I left class and while nobody was outright saying what happened, there was a... weird vibe. Wasn't as noisy as usual.

Since I had 2 hours to kill, I went to the mall (right across the street) and noticed a bunch of people hanging outside the sports store, which has a TV. Usually store owners don't like people hanging around, and I thought something big had happened in the sports world. Then I saw what was on. :\ I only saw the north tower collapse live but I'm pretty sure that they showed a replay of the south tower.

The rest of the day was weird in school... both of my remaining classes were cut short because no teacher really wanted to do a heavy lesson.

I always thought that it was weird that UEFA went ahead with Tuesday's Champions League matches (which they had plenty of time to postpone and I don't think anyone would have minded) yet cancelled Wednesday's games. :\ Made for a weird sports show later where they talked about the effects of the attacks for 20 minutes then threw it over to the CL matches.

It was a "bigger deal" than normal because of it being the 5th year anniversary.

Odds are we'll only see this kind of coverage again for the 10th anniversary.

"although my first period teacher forbade us from discussing it"

Ah, encouraging classroom discussion...

I'd take your old PS2 but it's PAL. :\

And given the cost and the uncertainty, if you don't *need* to buy a PS3 right away, then you shouldn't. Wait.

I hate horror movies. Not because they're "scary" or anything like that... they're just not my cup of tea. I might enjoy the occasional thriller, but nothing too extreme.

Yeah, um... all the ND haters were crying after Penn State got whipped. :\

Boston College did well this week to get by Clemson. I don't think they should have any problems against BYU this weekend...

I've actually read a lot of posts on different message boards today about how people were depressed for weeks after it, discovered a new love for America, etc... and none of their loved ones were hurt/killed in the attacks.

I understand that some people are patriotic and might handle it differently, but there are extremes. Such as...

I went to bed in fear that I wouldn't wake up or that I'd wake up to the same thing. The next day, I lit some candles in the grotto at Notre Dame and said a prayer. I went back home, laid in bed, and continued to watch the news. That's all I did for the next couple months. I really didn't have a meal until my birthday on 10/31/01 and that was because my mom and girlfriend forced me to go out. I ended up losing about 20 to 30 lbs. in that time. I just stopped living. I felt like all of those people died and I was still here, so what reason did I have to function on a normal basis if I was going to end up meeting the same fate. Slowly I recovered, but even to this day all I do is think about what happened. I haven't really been the same since and I can never justify myself being truly happy because there's 1,000's of others who will never be happy ever again. That's how I rember 9/11/01. I hope nothing like that or worse than that ever happens again.

I mean, my take on the above would be that said person probably has some psychological problems that need to be taken care of before spewing this out.

Was it a terrible event? Hell yes. Should you still be heavily affected by it and "not the same" five years later if you didn't have a personal attachment to the attacks? I'm not so sure.

I would have picked a bracket but... Quebec... no prizes... waste of time... :\

Zelda vs. Aeris is REALLY tough to call. Don't have the brackets on me but that could easily be a final.

You could have also just remembered how great Sony's first run of systems usually is.

(Not baiting, but a fact; Sony's hardware doesn't enjoy the greatest first run.)

KOS-MOS didn't do well the past two years so I don't see things changing. She's not as popular as you think, and if the Sonic fanboys show up Amy could get past her.

That's what you have to think about during the tournament; fan boys.
