Just curious; for you lucky bums who have mic ports in the FRONT of your PC (and not the back), is orange the mic port and green the audio out port? Because I tried the headphone trick via the orange port and no dice.  |

Deletion reasion: The result was delete. The consesus conclusion of this AFD appears to be that this subject is not verifiable with no reliable sources (blogs are not reliable sources, nor is anecdotal evidence). Anything after we have determined violations of WP:V and WP:RS is not relevant. This is more a problem with reliable media sources not wishing to cover these type of games (probably for the reasons mentioned by SevereTireDamage) than with the notability of the subject. |

I think I brought up a good point about rom hacks that attract exposure outside the general community (that being rom hackers and people interested in hacks) being included in Wikipedia, solely for the reason that the information has already been broadcast to the masses. It hasn't just been confined to a niche audience.
I included the Kotaku and Joystiq links, and while they might not be completely reputable sources, they certainly attract enough readers to be considered notable. |

| If there's something to be gained by playing a game "perfectly", then I'll do it. Yoshi's Island is an easy example; if you want to access the hidden levels, you need all those perfect scores.
Challenge Mode in SMBDX is another great example; you *want* to complete all the levels and find the red coins/Yoshi Egg while racking up the target score. It's incredibly addictive and you feel like you've accomplished something when you finish it. |

| There's only one game that can be started, which is the Round 2 match on the top of the bracket. The losers bracket can't start because you guys HAVEN'T PLAYED. :\
I know it's hard with Ailure being 6 hours ahead but I'm guessing that you guys will either have to play around midnight/1 AM or 4 PM/7 PM. |

300 characters is a lot but there's no way you could make each one of them unique; at least, on a DS cart. |

Reminds me of Sympatico tech support stories. Basically you go to Level 1 first where they walk you through all the stuff you've probably tried already or stuff you know isn't related to the problem. It's only after they treat you like a baby that they elevate your problem to Level 2. |

This reliance on RELIABLE SOURCES, however, leads me to believe that no rom hack is going to get a stable entry on Wikipedia unless news of it is published somewhere.

There's also the notability rules, which are really a grey area. I mean, some video games can be released for platforms like the PS1 and they're extremely obscure, but if they were given an official release on the console then they should be cataloged, no? :\ |

And not every video game released has those sources, and some that do require some serious sleuthing. I mean, what constitutes a source; quoting from the game manual or the back of the box? I'm SERIOUSLY tempted to write a blog post on this. It's a Pandora's box.
