The American release was FF4 Easy Type, which was basically dumbed down because Square didn't want to alienate the American audience right away.

It might be a port of the WSC code but they still had to add a bunch of stuff to it. So it's probably the "ultimate" version of FF4 at the moment, at any rate. |

Bomb really isn't that useful and Goblin is more of a "nice to have for completion's sake" summon... although I can get THAT one in FF4 without any difficulties.  Go figure.
