That's what I've always LIKED to assume. But it still gets me wondering... there's so many possibilities out there. There's really no way of telling what they are or where they from. That's what bothers me the most.

Hey, I'm TehBlackSharpie. I've been into ROM-hacking for almost a year now, shortly after discovering the beautiful world of emulation. But I've never done much with it. I'd like to learn more.

I'm still only trying minor experiments right now, like simple graphics, palette and text hacking NES games. Also, I know how hex works... if you put a hex editor with a ROM opened in it in front of me, I won't be all "OMG WTF IS TAHT!!1"

Eventually I plan on working my way into learning ASM, I have a good ol' book about 6502 at home that I'll start reading when I have time. But for now, I'll stick with Lunar Magic and hacking NES games. But you won't see any stupid questions from me. I promise.

Hells yeah, this is definitely the one game I'll be getting with the Wii whenever I end up getting it. The gale boomerange pwns so hard. It's good to see that the developers are still coming up with new creative weapons (I thought the hookshot was the coolest until now).

Oh dear god, yes.

So... much.... bumping.

Yeah, Invader Zim was amazing. I went through a huge obsession with it at one point. If you have Dish network or DirectTV or whatever, it still comes on the Nicktoons channel. I used to have it until I moved. Sigh.... such a great show. Would've been so much greater if stupid Nickelodeon didn't cancel it.

That would be my guess. It's probably just a small cameo that they intended to include in the game but it never made the cut...

How does it remind you of Banjo Kazooie?

I've known about this for a long time, and I've always been curious. I was playing Ocarina of Time the other day and it reminded me about this fun little page. It does indeed work, I've done it a bunch of times, but there's barely any info on the page about the technical reasons the menus shows up.

Why does the yellow bar only show up when you slightly pull out the cartridge in a certain way?
Why does this only work in the Temple of Time?
And most importantly, does the text in the menus MEAN ANYTHING?

Thanks.

My current Windows desktop. I tend to change it around a lot, but I've had it like that for a few weeks now.

I'll post my Linux desktop whenever I feel like going back on it. Could be a long time

Bad memories though, I played that and accidentally ran into a clothesline once. That wasn't very fun.

Heh, a friend of mine and his friends were playing that at a cemetery at like 2:00 AM and a girl tripped on a tombstone and broke her knee

As for me, I had some pretty strange ways of keeping entertained. One thing was a Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh type of thing me and a few friends made up in 4th grade. We called them "Dudes." Creative, yes, I know. We would draw little monster dudes on index cards and make items and stats for them and whatnot. We never actually made a game out of it though, it was just fun to make them.

Another fun one was "don't touch the ground" or "the ground is lava" etc. That was especially good for those boring, rainy days.

Good times.... goooood times.

Eh. Be more specific... when you say "game save," do you mean battery save or a save-state? I don't think there's any way to import a save-state from one emulator to another unless they use the same format. But I could be.. err... probably AM wrong.

Well, like Shadic said, cut it out with the AOL-Speak, it's not gonna get you too far here.
Otherwise, welcome to Acmlm's. I guess.

I've also seen a video where the backwards jump thing is used to get inside the aquarium by the entrance to Jolly Roger Bay. I could never pull it off on flat ground OR stairs though.
