A YouTube double feature for you.

KHAAAAAAAAAN!!

The Ricardo Montalban "soft Corinthian leather" commercial. Contrary to popular belief, he does NOT say "RICH Corinthian leather". Another fun fact is that apparently "soft Corinthian leather" translates to "Cadillac marketing bullshit".

EDIT: Tittle?

Actually, I'd think it more hilarious if you HAVEN'T played Link's Awakening before. Having played the game gives you the context for "grabbing the weathercock", which kind of ruins the joke.

Or maybe I'm just not funny.

I should point out that this is not merely a one-day exam; it is ongoing until, presumably, either I fuck up or my present employment ends for some other reason.

Glad I could make you laugh. I was actually just trying to humorously express how old topics like this make me feel (Despite being all of ten months removed from school).

Not necessarily.

He never states that he is paying in American dollars, nor does he have a Location filled out that would imply such.

That said, I'm a geek and used a currency converter website to find out the approximate value of $250US converted to various other dollars (Those "dollars" in the top 85 currencies of the world...whatever that means). As of about 10:30PM EST on 10/16/06, that $250US will get you:

$284.40 Canadian;
$331.86 Australian;
$379.42 New Zealander;
$250 Bahamanian;
$498.75 Barbados;
$250 Bermudan;
$667.50 Eastern Carribean;
$432.53 Fijian;
$1,945.69 Hong Kongian;
$16,533.75 Jamaican;
$395.62 Singaporean;
$8,306.25 Taiwanian New, or
$1,562.63 Trinidad and Tobago.

So if he's from Singapore (Or a couple other countries), his paying in the neighborhood of $400 (Not necessarily US) is not at all unreasonable.

Think outside the box, people. Think outside the box.

Fair enough. I had kind of presumed as much by his mention of K-Mart (I have no idea what their foreign presence is like), but the exercise was still worthwhile to me.

I <3 unconventional thinking.

Xepher Challenge, to me, represents a nice "transition 10" that DDR really needs more of. The stream parts are actually the easy stuff to me; the Twilight Zone (dahdah-dahdah-dahdah-dahdah-dah-dah-) parts are what I get tripped up on, partly because of the speed.

Additionally, musically, I can see why the song is so popular. I first heard it and was like "It's trying to be a more danceable 'One Winged Angel'. Huh."

I'm late on this, but yeah.

Let me rephrase to be more accurate: On the quickest path through the game, the only non-warp pipe that gains you real-time speed is the one in 1-1 (I'm not sure about pipes that aren't in the eight levels required to beat the game). This is pretty much for the reason you mentioned; most other pipes don't warp you forward that much, and when you consider that the truly elite-level runner of the game basically holds B through the entire game, it's quicker to just run than take the pipes.

As a note, I first saw this on Google Video, with much more detailed comments (Both players have completed the game faster than is shown here, as you'd expect).

I've heard this too. I remain skeptical for a number of reasons. EDIT: holy fucking shit.

In other news, my ITGPC and converter came today. I haven't played with it much other than installing the update and making sure the converter played nice with the game..more to come tomorrow.

If I remember correctly, this settlement regards the same suit that Hiryuu refered to (Konami never "lost", the suit just kind of languished in limbo for awhile).

Nonetheless, I agree with him that they probably compensated Roxor for it, if only because it sounds similar to what IBM does nowadays when it comes to these things (Which, when it's cheap enough, is "Hey,you're infringing on our (whatever), we'll give you some relatively small amount of money (under $25K) in return for you getting the hell away from our (whatever is being violated)." That's 99% of the time, anyway; the other 1% of the time, they throw the lawyers at them just to keep people honest.

Some have speculated that Konami will continue to release ITG as a form of self-competition (The overlap between ITG and DDR isn't really as great as you'd think). The problem with that theory is that Konami doesn't have Roxor--just the intellectual property that pertains to ITG2 (Which, really, no one is quite sure what that even means yet).

So, brief review of ITGPC: Worth the cash (Even taking into account the likely necessity for a converter). Grab it while you still can.

ASIDE: MAX300 is probably one of the easier MAXes, period (Though I'd argue that it's probably easier to BS everything post-freeze on Unlimited).

Getting there with a Fire Flower is easy, sure. Actually trying to hit Bowser with multiple fireballs might not occur to them, however. He's the only enemy that takes multiple fireballs to kill (Except for those like Buzzy Beetles that can't be fireballed at all)

So some random pictures from ITGPC. Yep, it lets you save screenshots. Sweet.

By the way, thanks for the "X2 on Summer Speedy Mix" tip Hiryuu.

EDIT: Dammit. Little late, but 56K Warning.
