I haven't heard anything official about this, but if people on AIJ are to be believed, ITG2 R16's timing windows can be hacked (See Damien's post near the bottom).

*sigh* Roxor only seem to be making my assessment of them correct as time goes on.

I have to say I do like the fact that when I click, I can actually get to all the pages as opposed to only a few.

ALSO: I'm looking into opening an Ameritrade account and trying to make some mad money Jim Cramer-style. Hmm.

Eh, thats close to what happened. Nintendo abandoned Phillips and started working with Sony, then Phillips released the cdi. Then when Nintendo was working with Sony, things kept getting in the way of releasing the cd addon. Nintendo release the Super FX chip, which pushed the cd addon back even more. Suddenly, Nintendo abandoned Sony as well, saying that CDs were not the future of gaming and that CDs were ultimately slower than cartridges. Thats when Sony decided to use what they had and make the Playstation independently from Nintendo.

Supposedly, one of the higher-ranking Nintendo execs, I forget which one, also said that Nintendo pulled out of the deal because "He couldn't bear to help Sony into the console business."

RE: GT:HD: Some have stated that the GT stuff has to be fake. Whether it's Sony fanboyism talking or what, I don't know, but even THEY couldn't be that dumb...could they?

As for the more people own a ps2 so theres more broken ones, no. If less people owned it, that wouldn't mean the system would be less likely to break, or less of them would be broken. The same amount would be broken, less people would just own them. I don't see the point o-o;; if more people owned a Gamecube or XBox which didn't break so much, there isn't going to suddenly be an outbreak of faulty Gamecubes. Bleh.

Not quite. If Sony sold fewer PS2 than they have, while the systems would break at the same RATE, there would indeed be fewer broken ones. This is a very important distinction.

Think of it this way: I take 100 PS2s and for some reason, I'm feeling Sonycidal today, so I just smash 5 of them by various means. This does not satisfy my lust for decimated Sony electronics, so I take another 1000 PS2s (Different from the first 100) and this time I smash 50 of them.

Which group did I break more of? Well, the second one; I broke 50 as opposed to 5 in the first group. Which group did I break a higher PERCENTAGE of? I actually broke the same percentage--5%--in both groups. I broke a more in the second group because, you guessed it, there were more in the second group for me to break.

Having said that, I don't believe that the number of failed PS2 is totally compensated for by their increased marketshare--my brother and I had one that eventually died, and I bought a used one from EB that failed something like 3 weeks after I bought it. So I had two that ultimately went defective by myself (Granting, I'm using our old friend the Small Sample Size here), whereas except maybe for the original NES, I don't think I've ever had another system fail. On the other hand, my uncle had a GameCube that fried not long after he got it.

I briefly skimmed the article, and I agree with one of the things it said--DVD players in various forms are incredibly common--I think I have 4 if you count the PS2 and computers in my house. I don't need another one in the Wii, particularly if it'll keep the price down. Good for Nintendo!

As Yoshi Dude said, I know what most consider to be "The National Anthem", IE its first verse. I know there are several more that aren't sung anymore, though, but I wouldn't be able to sing them for you.

This is pretty damn cool. I like putting a gap in the path...do it right and your sled fails to clear it, but the guy hits the edge and does a backflip before crashing to the ground.

So, all you Megaman players out there, I noticed something cool today.

In the first Megaman X, when you get the Hadoken powerup, the Dr. Light hologram is dressed as Ryu. I thought that was pretty neat. I have no idea how I missed it until now.

In my defense, I didn't grab the powerup that often, and this was the first time I've played the first X in years (I got the X Collection not long ago; even considering I already own 1, 2 and 4 on their original systems, getting the other 3 games for $20 new is too good to pass up).

I can't really laugh at this. Why? Well, one time I was looking to change my desktop back to something I had had it as before.

EE: "Hmm, let's see here. Ah, 'desktopXXXXX.jpg', there it is." *Changes desktop to this image* (XXXXX was a date of some kind)

What I had actually changed it to was a SCREENSHOT of my previous desktop. Panic briefly ensued when none of my icons worked, until I eventually figured out what I had done.

Title change!

My first impressions: Some songs seem really early to me, though this can probably be fixed by playing with the offset in the options.

SPOILERS REGARDING HOW A NEW MODE WORKS
Spoiler:
Stellar Master Mode (The new Dance Master Mode) is....yeah. I think I like it though. Basically, rather than individual missions, you have these modules, and each module has a given number of tasks, ranging from stupidly easy to actually fairly challenging, at least for a casual player (One challenge may be simply "Complete a song on Beginner or Basic", whle another may be "Get an A or better on 5 songs on Expert." Once you've completed a certain number of tasks, you can enter a showdown for a VIP card. Showdowns are basically multiple missions (Think more like EX US's Mission Mode here) in quick succession, and you have to pass a certain number of them to earn the card. Pretty fun stuff, even with the easier stuff, though this may be because "ooh goody, a bunch of songs I haven't played before!"

END SPOILERS

That's the other thing: Difficulty names have been changed; Light/Standard/Heavy are now Basic/Difficult/Expert.

I can't really give an opinion on the stepcharts yet, since I've been going through Stellar Master mode, which thus far has had me playing a disproportionate amount of Standard (I guess I'll now stick to that naming convention as well) songs. I enjoy what I've played to this point though.

Stupid Name Me Mix is in there? Ooh, interesting. I was aware of all the other Boss Songs that made it in.

Just as an aside, others are correct in pointing out that the "MAX 300" SMMM is actually much closer musically to MaxX Unlimited than to 300.
