The thread title says it all: I don't have any idea on how to put in music that doesn't already exist in the ROM itself. I heard from many sites that you can put whatever music you like into LttP with HM, but I haven't found a faq for it anywhere on google or datacrystal.org, and I really want to put different music in. It's very important to a project I'm working on!

Write it out? Sorry, I'm a n00b at this kind of thing, but I don't get how to write stuff. Heh-heh, the only reason I'm using Hyrule Magic instead a hex editor is because I don't get the concept behind addresses and whatnot. I get hex at a mediocre level, but not at all the addresses.

If somebody could tell me how to re/write a song into the game, I'd be able to finish my project and would be sooo grateful!

Ah-hah-hah, I thought you meant writing as "programing" or something... No, I understand notes pretty well. But there is still something that is bugging me: I'm experienced in the map editor (well, as much so as I can be without the use of hex...) and the text editor, but I don't know the first thing about the music editor. Perhaps there is some editor program other than Hyrule Magic out there that can make dealing with music easier? I looked all over google, but just maybe...

If not though, then it just brings me back to my last problem: I don't have a clue as to how I would use my knowledge of notes in HM. I found a WAV editor in HM, but I don't get how to activate it.

Posted on 10-08-06 05:52 PM, in Burning Sega Creamcast CD. Can I get some help? Link
Hello all! I'm having a large dilema: I want to burn a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2. I found the DC file online, but when I burned it onto a disc my DC wouldn't recognize it. I've never burned a game before. What I did was simply download the file (it wasn't torrent) and burn the file on a cd (I've been told you have to use a certain type of disc...) as an ISO in Nero DiscBurner. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I got the Dreamcast the week it came out (yeah, its old). I've looked all over the web for ways to make DC CDs, but each way is different, and on every one of them people complain that the game doesn't work right, if not at all. Usually I would just either play the ROM/ISO/whatever it is on my computer or simply buy it online, but its a fighting game that costs $300 for a good copy! (not that I think nobody knows that, I just don't want people that don't know what MvC2 is coming to tell me just to buy it.)

The most common way that I hear about is to simply burn it as an ISO, but then people say "When you download MvC2, open it and click on *insert title here* to change *insert title here* into *insert title here* and you're ready!"

... ... ...
... ... ...
... ... ...
Every time I download the game, its just that: the game. There is no extra file for me to open, there isn't even a way to open MvC2 unless I use an emulator. I'm starting to think that they are talking about torrent files, but my computer can't run torrent! Is there something else I'm missing?

I have to find a way to bypass the whole "copy protection" thing. It reads the game but then it just goes to the DC menu. When I try to play it again it reads it, acts like its going to play, and then back to the menu. No wonder DreamCast didn't last long: it was too hard for the game makers to get their games to work! lol

Does anybody have the MP3s from the Evolution series? In particular, the ending credits?

Like the title says, I can't level up Sonic's custom attacks! The book says to find Chaos Drives, but they don't do anything for Sonic at all. (of course, the booklet has its lying moments...) Any help at all on this topic would be most appreciated.

And please, PLEASE, don't tell me that its gonna be downloadable content. PLEASE!!! Please tell me its something I can do without the use of XBoxLIVE. I can't stand the possibilities of having to wait for downloads to appear, so please don't give me bad news like "Oh, you have to wait and download online" or "Yeah, you're screwed because its not possible" that would KILL me!!

Yeah, I forgot to say. Please no flames and useless comments like "Sonic sucks" because those types of comments serve no purpose except to make other people mad with the waste of space. Thank you. BTW, Sonic '06 doesn't suck if you know from the top of your head the release date of Sonic 1,2,&3 and ALL the codes for ALL the Sonic games that you've ever played (for me, all except Rush and Rivals).

Thanks. I've tried Gamefaqs. I guess since the game is relitively new people really haven't made any good guids yet. I mean, there are good guids, but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. But about those shoes. This is the first time I've heard about any special shoes. I know that getting the abilities changes the look of your shoes (for Sonic, anyways) but I didn't know there was some other item I had to get.

Is there anything else? Something just doesn't sound right here...

Posted on 02-15-07 12:21 AM, in HyruleMagic trouble... again!! Link
Its me again, needing more help with HyruleMagic:
Long story short, I've been trying to completely reinvent Zelda3 using HyruleMagic. What I really want to do is to simply change the level layouts to fit my taste, as well as enemy types and positions, torches, and certain items found in pots (ei: hearts, arrows, etc.). My trouble comes from actually ADDING things; I can't save changes if there are more things in a room than there was when I started off (like two torches instead of one). This happens with torches, items of any kind, and (most annoyingly) enemies. How do I bypass this little problem? Also, is there anything I can do to make an enemy character stronger (defense and offense)? I guess that is already in the game permanently...

FYI, sorry if this is the wrong forum for this thread. I don't think the image hacking forum (it needing approval and all) is going to be too happy with me posting only weak threads, and I don't think its worth it to wait for approval just to post one thread and then never come back to the forum again. Again, sorry if this doesn't belong.

Posted on 02-15-07 01:44 AM, in Wanting to know if I could get approved. Link
I guess to start off, I'm a Sonic the Hedgehog fan straight off the bat. I even liked Sonic'06! I love the concept of crating my own game. Or if there is something that I wouldn't mind a game having (or not having), I can change it. Prime example (and I think I speak for us all now) is not having the Triforce in OoT.

I'm currently using a "hacking-made-easy" tool called HyruleMagic for Zelda3 to create a new game in itself. However, I am also hard at work trying to recreate Metroid 3, SMW, and Sonic 1,2,&3. But currently it is just Zelda.

I'm relitively new to the hacking world, so I come to the threads often when I need advice on how to use a certain program a certain way. On the few questions I've asked in the General Emulation forum I haven't gotten much help, so I'm trying to get approval so that, if again I have a hacking question, I can get the help I need.

Also, though the little bit about 'BASIC' hacking I know is child's play here, I might be able to help somebody that has a question about any program that I'm familliar with.
