Hmm... I don't need help making a patch, but apparently that the ROM that I've been using to patch other hacks, isn't so clean.
I'd like a mod to close this please. |

Hmm... I think there already is a "sprite smashable brick"... If I'm wrong... sorry.
Anyway, I think that this thread should be kept for mainly for SMW asm and custom blocks, as that's is what this thread was started for. I'm not a mod though, so I have no real control, but I think if a ASM hack is for a game other than SMW the poster should specifically make sure that people know that it's for, e.g. Super Metroid, and not Super Mario world. |

See that works just fine too. |

Hmm... I still have some trouble understanding ASM, but what I did catch was: less - no slowdown, no more stupid hex-dec conversions, allover easier. sounds awesome. Oh, and Dan you may as well release your re-write of blocktool, it's not very much help to the rest of the hacking community while it's on your computer.

Ya know, just yesterday I was wondering if it would be possible to create a zelda 2 the adventure of link hack for SMW, sounds near impossible though, nice screens BTW, but that grass HAS to change.

Hey I still think I'd be fun, my only problem is last time I started a group hack with blue falkon, he quit the boards and the hack.
Oh, and how would we go about doing the overworld?, we could put an empty level on every square, but that would be tough... |

this is shocking! If somebody ever used stuff from my hack without asking, I'd... make sure everybody knew they used it without asking! (Except maybe BMF or Fu, course I'd tell everyone anyway then, just without the anger) I mean, I can see with Exgfx, if someone said, "No get your own jerk!" Then I'd probably do that. I think, if they don't want to have to design their own, they shouldn't touch the graphics. (without permission first)

So is yoshi gonna be a horse? That would be cool, but strange, and yet still cool at the same time, I once had an idea for a hack like that, make yoshi a horse, the chargin' chucks cows, and the goombas chickens. Sorry I'm drifting off topic now... It still looks pretty good.

Grr... I have a problem with my starting level, it was originally level 20, and I used the "save level to ROM" and made it level C5, problem is, level 20 was a "no yoshi intro level" is their a ROM address I could change to turn it (level C5) back into an ordinary level?

Yes, those are two major rules around here: No smc's, or the people who run this site could be fined. Always screenshots, I think I'll download your hack anyway, just to see it. but I wouldn't do so ordinarly, neither would many who frequent this board. Otherwise... Welcome!

This probably goes contrary to what you all think, but I hope they won't, the last thing we need are more noobs who think altering a pallette or changing around a few sprites makes it a hack. Still though, I suppose I will check it out. (edited by Xeruss on 12-30-05 11:27 AM) |

Okay, sorry I didn't realize that. I thought it would be a matter of a ROM address, thank you though, I can continue hacking now...

I sent you my level through your e-mail as an attachment, I didn't add sprites, or Exgfx... That's up to you and iceman. So long as you still give me credit for original level design, modifiy it as much as you want. I may submit more later.

I just ran into this same problem today, and what I want to know is why Fu even put both palettes on if you can't use them independently (sp?) anyway, I think the best you can do is make one submap foreground use one palette (e.g. palette 1) and the other submap a different palette (e.g. palette 2). I hope someone will come up with a patch someday soon, but until then I suppose we'll have to wait. (edited by Xeruss on 01-03-06 06:51 PM) |

Hmm... My grandmother used to recomend a combonation of lemon juice and honey, I've never tried it but it should be worth a shot. By the way, if it works please tell me.

In my hack, mario will go through one level that will alter the course of the rest of the game, if he takes the secret exit, he will go to one submap, if he takes the regular exit, he will reach the other. Now one of these will be a desert world, and the other a snow world, so should the snow level be the secret exit, or the desert?

I was figuring more for equal level difficulty, thanks for your opinion, but I want at least five votes before I make a move. |
