You can't make "actual" MP3 support work with the SNES, just because the SPC and most likely not even the 65c816 itself have enough processing power to decode these in realtime. What d4s did was converting something he got in MP3 format into BRR (the native sample compression format of the SPC-700) and then letting the SNES stream it into his custom SPC program that played it back.
As for Solar Soundtrack... I am working on it. As I implement stuff I was planning to, I get more and more new ideas and eventually end up thinking they should be implemented before the release.
Work expands as to fill in the time given for its completion. - That bonmot has a critical aspect to it when there are no serious deadlines like in my case.

According to FuSoYa, he won't do anything with LM anymore except it is about fixing major bugs only. But well, he said that before 1.62 too... so I guess waiting is the best solution here.
SMA2 support - I checked with massive reverse engineering - is not really present in the current LM version, but there are stubs suggesting it has been #define-d out before compilation. Fu himself says he has no plans on releasing it though and did it solely out of academical purposes. (Why would one want it, anyway? It's the same game with more limitations and lower resolution.)

Yeah, and VB runtimes don't overwrite each other.
If that doesn't help, try running "regsvr32 /i comdlg32.ocx" or just "regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx". Sometimes, that works.

Meh.

Screenshots: A bit linear. This would have been a good hack two years ago, but nowaday, one uses ExGFX and... some more creative level design. Nothing bad about that either though.

Page: You really should watch your pick in colours. The bright blue and the cyan together look just awful.

Still, with some work... this could become good enough.

Now that looks really neat. You have combined SMAS, original and non-Mario graphics in an unusual, but certainly good looking way. (<3 the colour schemes)

I am looking forward to the release.

Heh. Yeah, that giant bullet bill looks awesome. If you replace the BG and refrain from using those original log bridge tiles (god, they look awful), it will be a good setting altogether.

Hmm... what to do about this.

On the one hand, it was quite overly keen of you to create a thread like this. Sticky hunting, eh?

On the other hand... these "idea" threads are getting annoying. To quote myself from AIM,
[17:50] iHAXuLOLZ: "I have an idea! You should make an SMW hack where Mario has green pants!" *newthread*
[17:50] iHAXuLOLZ: "Whoa! Tonight... I had another idea! You could also make one hack where Mario has yellow pants!" *newthread*

Well... I think I'll delegate further deciding on this subject to the other SMW hacking moderators. I personally would tend for stickying it, probably giving it a more official-sounding text... but, as I said... I am not sure. You decide.

Why are people so obsessed with "develop LM further!" "redo it!" "make another SMW editor!" all the time?

ROM headers? If you can't add a 512 bytes in front of a ROM, you probably should reconsider pretending to be a ROM hacker.

Add more features/integrate feature XY with it? What'd that be good for? Again, LM brings all functions really necessary with it. It does what it is supposed to do, and not more. It is enough to motivate newbies for ROM hacking. Anything more would just mean more unskilled asshats going "ZOMFG LOOK! I AM TEH GRAET H4X0RZ! BOW BEFORE MY SKILLZ!" for clicking three buttons to autogenerate what seems a great hack to them. If you are a halfways decent hacker, using multiple tools really shouldn't be a problem to you. I personally prefer a tool with a somewhat limited functionality that covers the basics well, thus guaranteeing a good workflow without having an uncontrollable amount of features - and I think many people share my opinion. Also, I seriously fear for the "hack value" remaining to SMW if things like basic HDMA control routines or custom sprites make their way into an "idiot-proof" editor - it might lead to some of the better hackers leaving simply for being not enough of a challenge anymore.

Request it to become open source? I'd like to know how many of you would like to make a project you spent years on entirely public. As in, I'm really curious.

Also, leave my sweet ROM headers alone. No way they are as bad as some make them, and agitative actions to reduce their popularity tend to backfire (I dare say the ROM header holocaust played a certain role in Chrono Trigger hacking not becoming quite popular) anyway. I will release my hacks with headers in future as well, as I don't see any reason not to (au contraire, the more people try to holocaust them by causing inconvenience to those who work with them - *cough*Geiger*cough* -, the more I am tempted to release tools that refuse to work with non-headered ROMs).

Most SNES games use actual text compression rather than plain tile sequences which could be looked up with relative searching. Therefore, you ought to get appropriate tables for the game you try to edit. Zophar's or Google might be worth a search.

Heh. I like its looks better than the current board PM viewer's

And yeah, I found it out just from looking at the mosaiced URL in the screenshot. Only thing that was giving me trouble was pmid (it somehow looked like gold/hold/... to me in the first place, so I tried that... but when I saw that not working, I got the pmid thingy).

By the way, this enables me to see the IPs of guests.
Power-up.
