I was kidding. But really, I think that's a bit too broad of a definition.

I agree on that. I mean, art is hard to pindown. A lot of people say is that if it conveys a message or creates an emotion. Some forms of art distinctly try to eschew such ideas, namely...pomo.

I soft-modded my X-Box. Best choice - ever.

Depending on how kick ass Euro/Jap. games are for the Wii I may have to consider modding the poor girl.

Well, I can only really think of March of the Penguins and the parody movie that came after it. Likewise, I can't think of much else than Happy Feet on the penguin front. So, I don't think that they are necessarily cliched. Happy Foot, for example, was a musical that used penguins as a way to highlight the risks of global warming/climate change. Comic book movies, normally, aren't too cliched. Look at Road To Perdition, 300, Sin City, The Hulk and a few others. They just make good sense to produce because they're an imaginative medium with an already established fan base with word-of-mouth potential. I just want to see an original take on one of these adaptations that was unique in its style (The Hulk was, but it was unfairly maligned by an ignorant audience).

But banking on something with a relatively large budget that may not have a good commercial or critical reception isn't the way that smart producers make money. However, Avi Arad has already stated that there will be a sequel. Maybe they know something about it that I don't, but it got a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes...

A cool interview with Nick Cage.

Point at something that is generally considered "art" and say "art".

Or point at "Fountain" by DuChamp and say "no". I'm usually cool with him, but foundart really irritates me. Particularly the point behind that piece. He just did it to anger an art commission. What a doucebag.

Usual things regarded in the usual way are mundane, it's the investment of effort by the artist and the beholder that make something special.

"Fountain" by DuChamp, for instance

You're the reason that, to a degree, mod chips piss me off.

I still buy games, extensively. The fact of the matter, though, is that soft-modding my X-Box allowed me to augment my collection and use my X-Box as a bitching media centre.

I don't think a single law maker has claimed that it will be a substitute. Everyone sees it more as an augmentation to fuel supplies.

Because I've been here for more than 5 years. I've seen the board through worse straits. You don't know anything. That's why people care.

Because if the admins knew I was watching the Food Network I'd be breaking every known rule in the FAQ.

Kylie Kwong cooks to porno-style jazz music.

Thank god for food network marathons.
