| I know what a bigot is, and I know what one is. There is no such thing as a general bigot, someone who hates everything that isn't his own opinion. In one thread I may not have agreed with your opinion, but I tolerated it. I proved you wrong on factual grounds, though. I will admit, I'm bigotted towards homophobes. And frankly, I am not going to tolerate positions like that. I tolerate conservative positions on a lot of things. But discrimination against my friends, be it racism, homophobia, sexism, misogyny, anti-semetism, islamophobia, christophobia (whatever intolerance towards Christians would be called)...I'm not going to stand by. | ||||||

The ignorance and lack of acceptance towards gays is deadly, literally. Even in many places in the United States people are attacked for BEING HOMOSEXUAL. That's just wrong, no matter what way you slice it. For years they've been maligned, thrown in prison for being in love with someone else, been persecuted and feared, and most dangerously they were ignored and overlooked during the AIDS epidemic after being declared the scape goat. I have agreed with you in the past that a lot of things in modern society have gone way too far. However, your posts with regards to homosexuality is that you do not tolerate it. In fact, given some of your posts in other topics you're down right afraid and disgusted of other male forms. That would constitute homophobia. As for political correctness - I have a problem with it too. Acceptance isn't a part of that though. The blanket term of political correctness is a damper to the English language, it limits slang and it limits discourse. Some people will adhere to everything PC. But accepting and tolerating people because of what they are isn't political correctness - it's accepting and tolerating them. But I could go on for hours. |

| An impeachment should be held on better grounds than a blow job or having a failing war. If more comes out about Bush's actions (the Plame affair and stuff like that are disturbing) before his term is over then impeachment should be considered. However, he is just being a bad president. | ||||||

That statement was in reference to a quoted point in my post. What I was talking about was your reference to political correctness and said that accepting people and tolerating them wasn't part of political correctness. Most right-wingers/conservatives will decry those that attack homophobia or racism as being too PC, or something along those lines. I made that statement to insure that no one was going to begin the "YOU'RE PC...No, YOU'RE PC" game. As for "Don't make it out to sound like I'm in denial or something. I would hardly consider myself homophobic, that's for sure, but I also fail to see any words of mine that would give that impression in the first place." Alright, now let me see this mentality in future posts so that I'll have the ability to reevaluate my said position. |

| Whatever the hell they want is what they should do. I appear as a manly man, what with my rugged beard, close cropped hair (gone are the good days) and stuff along those lines. Take heed that I do get pedicures and I do pluck my eyebrows. But I don't buy ideas of dudes needing to conform to any set role with regards to these things. | No, but the fact of the matter is that you people actively choose to go to those places to trade in games, the chop shops of the gaming industry. I sold mine by bundling them up and putting them out for auction. In some cases I made a profit on the games (I bought MGS2: Substance for 15 bucks and Halo for 20 - they sold for 50 together).
If gamers weren't a bunch of saps that have no spine when it comes to these things they'd have done what other hobbyists sometimes do and made their own networks for trading and selling their games. |
