A: I worked the deep frier at a restraunt. We deep fried candy bars. That's about the extent of taking them out of the norm

Q: what is the best sort of mood setting music?

I'm staying on for a while, as long as it takes to prep someone to take over for me...and I'm not even sure if the leave is a permanent thing. It's just that my first year of university is winding down and I want to try to pull up my grades, plus I have a lot of big, high-stress decisions to make. It's a nasty lil' thing - life. Plus, summer time might be very hectic (I'm bringing a semi-completed project out of limbo and going to start fishing around for publishers and I'll be trying to submit a few papers to undergrad journals) what with work and the possibility of travel. :o

Anyways, yeah. I've always thought of leaving permanently (for non-board and boardom reasons), but I can never seem to do it because I like you guys however it seems that the stars are aligned against me. Big time.

I was talking about Eastwood's movie

I should've made myself more clear.

They both have ideas in their heads about their religion and what went on during the early Christian period.

Actually it's because I study this that I disagree with you.

Writing a book that the holocaust did'nt happen is not putting people's lives in immediate danger, people have all the time in the world to ignore it or debate it or make their own mind up about it. Its not like if they dont immediately act on the holocaust book then they could be killed in a fire. Also, what if this guy really believes he is right? Then its not a malicious act, its just one guy putting out what he thinks is truth. Any one else is free to then put out a book about what crap his book is. It would be different if his book contained a plan which it advocated for people to go out and murder jews. But even then i'd consider anyone who listened to him and actually killed someone to be far more guilty than the dumbass who wrote a book.

But Irving DID advocate such stances in his earlier statements and CAN be linked to having incited hate violence.

The two should not be compared. Really. They shouldn't. They're VERY different games.

That said...it's AMAZING.

Ah ha, but the article should be used when making a statement to an ambiguous title and in addition it was referenced a sentence later!

The first snippit of that quote was where I did what you said. My actual post was confronting Kutske on this whole idea of "simplicity being in the eye of the beholder".

Yes, when they're factually wrong! When you're absolutely wrong and know nothing about the time period (or institution in question) then you're wrong! It's one of those cases where it is not me, but rather, it is you.

The best thing about ED is that it was MADE to suck! Although a recurring theory is that Ash's adventures were all hallucinations.

So, did you read my post...at all? Or did you just see that he said "they're different games!" and then decide to say effectively what I did? I mean...seriously.

That's awesome Kas!

To be honest, I've stopped trying to be a gamer (I can still kick ass though!) and just accepted that as nerdy as I am I've just lost most interest in most games.

Well, there wasn't really all that much to read, so yes, I did read it. And it was actually more your note that they shouldn't be compared. So really what I was saying was that it wasn't really THAT unfair to compare them as you were saying.

And you seem REALLY sensitive to thinking that people, particularly people such as myself, don't really read your posts, when it's clear that you don't get the main thrust of said person's reply.

When he was asking for similarities I assumed that they would be in terms of gameplay and presentation. Your statement of the studio "philosophy" may be true, but as I've played both games I judged that although they do have similar artistic merits they are both very seperate and it is completely unfair to judge them one upon the other. If SotC was a direct sequel to ICO then I'd feel it a more fair comparison. SotC, like ICO, should be compared to other genre giants from other studios if a comparison must be made.

As to the second part of your post...I'd suppose that it is the way that you post and address things that leaves me wanting more clarification. You seem to post in a way that makes your statements clear, yet leaves their origins quite vague. I would say that the final part of your post "when it's clear that you don't get the main thrust of said person's reply" is more an insult than anything, though.

To be honest when I played Gex: Enter the Gecko or whatever it was...I wanted to shoot myself.

However, I think it was the 3D0 (it was some sort of system with a bad control during the System Flood of the Mid-90s) version my friend had that will forever make that thing a game of love in my eyes.

Hookah is a unique thing because it is an excellent social activity. Unlike marijuana which is taken primarily for intoxication or cigarettes for addiction hookah/shisha allows for an easy mingling of people with a minor distraction. I like to think of it as parallel to social alcohol or tea time. The tobacco and products used in hookah, and due to the way it is filtered (based on the hookah design) filters out a lot of bad stuff (leaving lots of bad, anyhow). It's quite an unique experience to smoke the hookah with a group of close friends and just let the conversation go where it must.

That kinda sucks, but he was 81. That's damned old for most people.
