Er... Boosts can work but they involve a lot of luck and have to be done flawlessly. It's possible to blow the blue shell out of the sky with a bob-omb but anything else won't work (and really, it's more trouble than its worth with a bob-omb). You time hitting thrown items by paying attention to the blue shell, knowing where who through it is on the course relative to you, and developing your own system. I do it based on when I first hear the blue shell's whistle.

Well, traps, if you had read the thread, you would know I was referring solely to the online mode, wherein such tracks are not selectable outside of hacking. Since I'm fairly certain you haven't played them, I would assume that even had you been looking in the past it would rather have been a fruitless endeavor.
