L and R buttons malfunctioning is actually fairly common on both DSes and DS lights. If it's on warranty, Nintendo will fix it for free; else, it's $75 in the US or $95 in Canada... Which is stupid-expensive. On the other hand, it's probably easy to fix yourself, but getting into the DS itself will require you to get atypical tools due to it being sealed by atypical screws.

I wouldn't know how to acquire them, myself, as I've never tried to repair a DS, but it can't be too difficult; it probably uses mostly common parts. If you know somewhere that carries a screwdriver that would work with those, then go ahead, but... Eh.

Hmm. I'm having a bit of an odd problem here about the second quest.
Spoiler (second quest ending):Supposedly after beating Ganon you go through the final dungeon, but I beat him and went through and merely got the triforce...

You almost have a passing request, and thus I do not want to deny you outright, but you are missing one key thing: You really don't say anything about yourself at all, which is bad because you really should say how you've improved since before.

Okay, seriously.

This sort of stuff.

You know what it isn't?

Fun for me.

I don't know about you, but crappy gifs and marquees doesn't make me nostalgic; it makes me annoyed. Very annoyed.

Also, you know what this shit is? This shit is spam. This isn't activity. This is random, pointless spam. When something stupid happens, do you know what you people do? You just spam! You take every opportunity you can to just make some posts. This isn't even postcount++; it's worse than that. This is postcount += 1.

At least it's not postcount*=postcount

If this fad annoys you too much, I could IP ban you until it's over.
If you did, I would simply leave, period.

That is really weird. The only thing I can think of is
Spoiler:
if there is a hidden condition to getting to the final dungeon that I already had and didn't know was necessary. Maybe there's some sort of time limit to beating Ganon? Maybe you have to beat him without missing with an arrow? Maybe you need to have a certain item in your inventory (magic powder, quake/ether medallion, etc)?
There isn't really a whole lot of optional material in the second quest so I really don't know what it is. Obviously you entered the right name to get the second quest or else you would have a hookshot and more dungeons to beat. There aren't any other versions of the hack out, so that's not an issue.
For the record, Ganon should have taken exactly 70 silver arrows to kill, and I couldn't even hit him without the master sword.

Hopefully Euclid or Orochimaru will be able to tell you the real reason why you didn't get to the final dungeon. If it's any consolation, it's not very long.
Spoiler:
I think I took 66 arrows to kill him... my last save was with 88 arrows and he died with 22, and I was very careful not to miss... Though, thinking about it, I vaguely recall hitting a bush on the way there that gave me +5 arrows, and I could have missed once without realizing it. And surely this is enough items? http://tinypic.com/2vxkoya.png - no hyperlink 'cause it won't show up black on the spoiler background if it's not plaintext.

Yeah, Ristar is a pretty badass game. But it's not underrated; pretty much everyone who plays it agrees on its badass

By the by, Sega often scrapped stuff to make deadlines.

The trick with such things is to simply accept that it is drawn to confuse you, and realize that it is impossible, and thus it can be dismissed altogether. On the other hand, things in this thread put any real contribution I could make to shame.
