Bah. RPS is only a game of luck when played between two people who don't know how to play. RPS is all about psychology. Go to a tournament and see if you win "1/3" of the the time. And by the way, though there are three options, because they have no advantage over the same play, it would be 1/2 in a random environment, not 1/3...

Heh. You hate it because it's pure luck, though... But if it was pure luck, I wouldn't win it 80% of the time against my friends, now would I? I mean, RPS isn't my favorite game or anything, but at least I know strategy when I see it. There's a psychological factor behind each individual move and each gambit, but eh. I suppose that isn't really obvious at first. Your outright bashing of it, though, is just stupid.

And for the record, $50,000 sounds worthwhile to me...

powerlevels four and five don't do anything admin doesn't, though. Some Acmlmboards use it to denote seniority, or being the board owner, but not this one.

Actually, I think powerlevel five doesn't exist on this board.

It's really more about... Reading your opponent. Each move has its own psychological profile. For instance, the rock, symbolized by a fist, is more aggressive, and many players will start using it more often if they start losing, whether they realize it or not. Paper is a more calm play, and scissors is somewhat tricky, because it loses to the obvious rock but defeats rock's counter. Now, that's a vast oversimplification, but eh, I can't really hope to explain everything about something as complex as RPS.
