Augh.

This hack is freaking fantastic, but man is being stuck in the pit in northeast norfair frustrating. Other times I've been stuck, I've been able to come up with something... But man, this is just ridiculous. I don't know what to say; I've systematically bombed and shot everything down there I could see, tried many combinations of jumps, and... Eh. Nothing seems to work.

I'm still looking for the hi-jump boots =/

On a possibly related note, how do I get through all these speed boosting areas where you don't have even close to enough room to build up speed? I've tried charging the speed booster and bringing it elsewhere, but the charge fades long before I get anything good done with it, and apparently you can't do that thing where you super jump right into a slope to get the charge again in this game. The here, in particular, boggles me:



I swear, there has to be a way to keep it longer...

Uh, no. That's what happens if you don't have the right version. If you use ZSNES v1.42, then the graphics don't look right once you hit Zebes, but it plays alright (you just can't see what you're doing).

So yeah, Katw and I have been pooling our efforts and have made it to Maridia.

I had a thought. If you were to have missed an energy tank on the way to Norfair the first time 'round (and not the one in the area of Brinstar near there) and you saved down there, wouldn't you be not only unable to get back up, but lacking the health to complete the run through Tourian for the ice beam?
