Ha ha, yeah. I remember being linked to this back in March. The video maker seems to think, incorrectly, that MJ writes his own music... As I recall, the person who does is even listed in the credits of the game.

Yeah, it'd be a pretty hellish endeavor for your ameteur programmer, since SMW's music isn't exactly... Supported by the engine the music hacks modify SMW to use.

I'm... Fairly certain it won't do that if you do it right... Get demo world, apply the patch to a blank rom, make a patch between the two.

Blue is the best color though. Why does pink have the most shades?

As for the stupidest PM I've ever gotten... It was probably an exchange, not a single message. I won't go into the details, but it culminated with them saying that they hate it when they get criticized.

Hah. Finally, a thread like this. Thank god. Wonder why no one made this before... Hopefully it should cut down on the stupid requests.

Okay.

Spoiler:
From the start of the level that has them (Twilight Galleon 2, iirc), run down the ship. You have to run at the start, since there's not enough room to build momentum after the first part. Once you get to the third Fire Brother, you need to jump over it onto the chuck behind it at the right angle to bounce up and to the left just a little bit and hit the invisible pink note block. From there, it's a fairly simple process to climb up the mast and jump onto the note block, warping you up to an area using the same tileset as Devil's Sky Fortress. The ending takes you to the secret exit, but there's a pipe you can take about halfway through (it's the one surrounded by boos) that takes you to the area with the yellow coins. You can leap up through the platform after you get them and continue the level, or go back through the pipe and finish get to the secret exit. Note that if you go back through the pipe, it takes some tricky maneuvering to avoid getting hit by the boos.

Posted on 05-13-06 04:22 PM, in Vertical control in SMW? Link
The simplest solution would be to set there to be no vertical scroll and then place objects just off-screen preventing flight above the upper limit of the screen, or just have a ceiling (This was done a lot in the original SMW). Other than that, you can have invisible objects at the highest point they can be set keeping Mario from reaching the very top of the screen, or simply design the level so that there's enough barriers and ground low enough to keep sufficient height to pass above the entire level impossible. Unfortunately, a real barrier at the very height of the screen is, to my knowledge, relatively impossible without coding such a barrier in yourself.
